17.01.2022 Vepa welcomes our two Melbourne technicians out of lockdown! Well done, the two Pete's, and the whole city. It’s been a rough ride. We’re going to give them some time off so they can enjoy their new-found freedom. (Maybe go and get haircuts guys? In-case you frighten the general populace). In other news We recorded the busiest month of our history, this October. Diagnostic tests were flying out the door of our new Brisbane dispatch center, to clinics all around Australia. L...ori has done an admirable job of keeping us fully stocked, even while international shipping is still a lottery. I think we are all fortunate to be in an industry that is weathering the Covid storm much better than some others. And the role that Vets and Nurses play, in enhancing the human-pet bond, is even more important in these troubled times. People affected the most by the pandemic are in need of that companionship more than ever. 14.01.2022 Vepa grows again! I'm very pleased to welcome Jade Davies to the team as Field Support Officer on the Gold Coast... Beginning her career as a veterinary nurse in 2008, she has worked in a large variety of small animal and mixed practices. Since 2012 she has been able to employ her passion for medicine in Emergency and Critical Care, developing high standards of patient care. There she discovered Vepa's point of care diagnostics. Jade gained her Accreditation in Veterinary Nur...sing in 2013, and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2019. A volunteer committee member with the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia for eight years, she is a devoted mother to a Cavalier named Gypsy, and in her spare time she gets dusty in Rally cars. Should the Vepa team ever venture into robbing banks, Jade will be our getaway driver. We've seen how you manage so many things at once - caring for your patients, operating a myriad of high-tech equipment, administering drugs, tending wounds, monitoring treatments. The list of the things you do endless. And all the while you're dealing with some very demanding and sometimes eccentric humans. Yes, the vets! ;-). 10.01.2022 Saying "No" to Aussie Vets for Seven Years. By Jack Mainprize. I was on the phone with a potential new customer the other day. A lovely vet who seemed a little surprised by the answers to her questions. She wasn’t familiar with us and needed to know if a particular analyzer would suit her clinic. The conversation went something like this... I don’t have an account with you guys, do I have to fill in a credit application? No. So I have to pay in advance before you send my anything? No. Really? So how long will it take to set up my account? Already done. I found your website just now. That’s all the info we need. I’ve heard Vepa has 24/7 support, 365 days a year. With a real person who knows the products answering the phone. Do I have to pay extra for that? No. And how about service and maintenance on the analyzers? Are there any extra charges?" No. "Sorry, but this is the strangest conversation I’ve had with a diagnostic supplier in a while Thanks. I’ll take that as a compliment. Someone told me the cost of Vepa’s chemistry panels are 20% less than your bigger competitor’s. Is that true? No. It’s more like 40% less. Holy smokes! So, I’m hoping I can trial the analyzer to see if it suits us. Will I have to pay for that? No. Great. How long can I have it for? Three months at least. We like you to bed it down into your routine before you decide. But if you need more time, you can have it for longer. Awesome! I suppose I’ll have to pay for the first lot of tests and consumables, right? No. Eh? Vepa doesn’t think you should gamble a single dollar on the quality or suitability of our products. That’s not your risk to take on, it’s ours. Wow. Hmm.. I had another question. What’s the date life on the tests? We’ve been caught out before with expired tests and lost a lot of money. Is that likely to happen with this analyzer? No. It doesn’t happen with any of our analyzers or tests because we have an expiry guarantee. You won’t be left with the cost of expired stock ever again. You’re kidding, right? No. Seriously? You’re just making all my problems go away. Can I come up to Brisbane and give you a big hug?
