19.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: Geelong 100% Renewable Energy City! Geelong will lead by becoming the first Victorian city powered by 100% renewable energy. The once zombie tow...n of Geelong has reinvigorated itself with a new, thriving local economy. Council has set a target to become a 100% renewable energy city and establish Geelong as a renewable energy hub. The influx of new investment from the renewable energy sector and correlating job opportunities has seen the Geelong business sector boom. The newly upgraded giant floating Christmas tree now features a solar array and wind turbines producing over half the cities daily electricity needs. In fact electricity is now so cheap that the Mayor permanently lights up the night with his glowing light suit and his state of the art lighting display hair. OK, so by now you've probably realised that we’re not there yet! Seriously though, this is not the pipe dream of some tree hugging greenies! Becoming a 100% renewable energy city is absolutely possible. It can be done with off the shelf technology like solar and wind, it will create jobs and investment in a new growth industry, and it would mean cheaper, non-polluting power for us all. And yes, why not have a solar powered Christmas tree. Let’s make it happen! Right now the City of Greater Geelong is seeking your view as to how it should take action to mitigate climate change across the region. It’s called the Greenhouse Strategy Review, it’s an online survey that is completely anonymous and only takes a few minutes. We think that Council should lead by example and aim to make Geelong a 100% renewable energy smart city. Can you complete the survey now? http://goo.gl/ezdave Tell Council that you want Geelong to become a 100% renewable energy city. Share this post for a 100% Renewable Geelong!

18.01.2022 We've been chasing the City of Greater Geelong to get our verge garden restrictions lifted. Now they're suggesting we can only have verge gardens if we use planter boxes! We think it's yet another needless restriction.... Tell us below if this is good idea or a terrible idea. Please share this post so we get plenty of feedback.

15.01.2022 The rebellion against the trashed, tired and unloved grass natureless strips is on.

15.01.2022 We applaud Geelong Council for the plan to green Central Geelong. We all know greening makes places much better - the exciting plans are just what the CBD needs. But unless money grows on trees we'll need to green the suburbs and towns of the rest of Geelong too. People powered street greening should be the other part of greening Greater Geelong.... Do you like the plans?

14.01.2022 This Geelong verge garden is eye candy for walkers. #geelong
