Theres always plenty of things we think we have to do, should be doing, places to be, but I think one of the most important things we can be doing is taking care of ourselves. Its a non negotiable that I cross the hill every 4 - 6 weeks and visit Tracy at Silverdale Natural Therapy. ... Tracys place is absolutely magic! What Tracy provides is hard to put into words. 23.01.2022 Spot on. Ill be honest with you here. Weve seen a 43% drop in sales, March alone Yet watching Sunrise yesterday morning, Myer has seen a 200% increase in beauty product sales.... Can we keep going? Who the f**k knows but were giving it a darn good crack. One of our biggest hurdles at the moment is packaging...cant get it in Australia Do I source from overseas? Thats where suppliers get it from, and Id actually pay way less.. ...how long will it take to get here amongst this crisis? Do I lax my buy within Australia stance? Do I want to? Small / micro businesses dont have the big marketing budgets. They dont have a team of people running the show, who they can brainstorm this shitstorm with Most of the time its a one man band & the fam, friends when needed, as is our business. The creating, the labelling, sourcing ingredients & packaging, negotiating prices, labelling, securing retailers, sales, accounting, customer retention, marketing, dishes cleaning, postage, buying stationery supplies updating darn websites.... is all done by 1. And now we also put on the teachers hat and in my circumstances, also work 2 days elsewhere (Im so grateful atm). This is not a sob story. Far from it. Right now people are waking up. I love it. They are - Producing their own food, gardening, spending time with those that matter most, Appreciating what they have because they are seeing that things on shelves arent always readily available. Theyre using toilet paper very carefully, not because of the environmental impact but because of its scarcity Did you know that "..worldwide, the equivalent of almost 270,000 trees is either flushed or dumped in landfills every day and roughly 10 percent of that total is attributable to toilet paper, according to the latest issue of World Watchmagazine...." - Australian Geographic. Thats 27, 000 trees a day people, & that figure is 10 years old I hope we can learn from covid 19. I hope we keep using just 1 or 2 squares when this is all over. We are thinking of others more than ourselves, looking out for the vulnerable, they are constantly in our thoughts. We keep our distance, wash our hands, to keep them well. We are getting to know our neighbours and banding together as a community. There is a lot of good coming out of Covid 19, theres also a lot of deep, deep heartache. But the world is being woken up for sure. I ask that you keep thinking, keep waking up. Before you buy that bottle of lotion, or moisturiser, or cream for cuts n sores, or bottle of gin, jar of honey carton of beer.... think of your small/micro Australian businesses and go look for them. Buy from them, attend their music gigs, invest in their service, they then feed their family. Buy from them they keep our Australian economy going. Buy from them, they can grow, employ other Australians and will still be here in 6 months

22.01.2022 One very happy camper. We use to (well Dad mainly ) travel out to Muchea Farm, early Wednesday morns, then sell their goodies and other local growers spray free fruit/veg, goats milk & yoghurt, at our organic stall in the gardens of the shop. My youngest was just born so were going back 10 years here. Then when we moved the shop online, wed visit at Perth City Farmers Market or Kalamunda Markets. As we moved further out we gave up the long haul.... Today, a beautiful, peaceful, drive out to Muchea and wohooooo. Its so worth it, nothing fresher, nor tastier. Pure biodynamic goodness. 16.01.2022 This has been one heck of a year but I believe that from even the toughest of situations you can learn very important lessons. I have done some reflecting and if there is one thing 2020 has taught me it’s to appreciate all of the small things. This is something that I try to implement regardless but has become especially important during 2020. Seeing the heartache that many went through this year made me appreciate what I have so much more. I even starte...d writing down things that I am grateful for every day. On tough days, this can be difficult but even on the hardest days, I am grateful to have my health, my family, running water, & food. I am so grateful (see what I did there ) to have reflected on this year and come out of 2020 with a lesson and a new habit that will boost my happiness and mental health! 16.01.2022 Today will not be the only day that this is important. But today is world suicide prevention day, a day to raise awareness on suicide and its prevention. Ive lost friends to suicide and Ive had a loved one on the brink of not being here. I much prefer being able to still see them, to sit around the fire, have a few laughs, share our stories and sometimes tears, than sitting by their grave. ... Its not always easy to see that someones not in a good place. If you are not feeling crash hot, please reach out to someone. If someone reaches out to you, dont be afraid, just listen. You dont have to solve it, you wont make matters worse, just lend an ear, let them know you are here. 14.01.2022 I remember the first time I saw this picture. My heart really did do a flip and I had a few tears. You see our travel products were on a trip around Italy with the amazing team at Wilde Collaborative I didnt hold any expectations of photos, Ive never been to Italy I imagined accomodation mainly. But whoah! Down a dirt road somewhere in Umbria, from memory, they followed this road and found this, a magnificent field of poppys ... They had no idea that my amazing Dad is a Vietnam Veteran, my Pop WWII and Great, Great Grandfather WWI Veterans. On this day in 2020, Anzac Day is very different for all of us. We are at home, as we in a way, fight to keep our loved ones well and safe. Im not able to stand by my Dads side today as the bugle plays. But that does not mean Im not with him. Ill hug him real soon, when its safe to do so. From the bottom of my heart I say THANKYOU to all who have served, continue to serve and those no longer with us. I know for some, the fight never ends and its a bloody tough fight, but thanks for staying with us. Thankyou to all the families who support our veterans whilst overseas and on their return. My Dad often says the wives should be the ones wearing the medals A special thank you to my Dad, I love you Boof. We truly do live in a beautiful country & it is your stubbornness, your willpower, your service and your sacrifices that enable us to enjoy so much each and every day. Lest we forget. Its a hard place to be in - ... farmer plants to expected demand has a beautiful, bumper crop has established markets that they supply, restaurants, juice bars, supermarkets... COVID 19! Many closures of eateries, staff #s drop in supermarkets = major decrease in demand no use picking as will be sold at below cost = left to rot. Crazy.

01.01.2022 Oh, boy, has 2020 been a wild ride I know I’ve been a little MIA on here for the last few months BUT I’m back and I’m sticking around! After COVID hit it was a struggle to get all of the supplies and ingredients I needed to make my skincare. So with the already stressful situation of not knowing what was happening or when it was all going to end, I made the decision to put Verissima on the back burner and concentrate on what mattere...d most to me, my family. Schooling my two children and working my ‘other job’ became my norm. How lucky was I to have a job that didn't stop during the pandemic I had a cruisy rest of 2020 planned and was preparing to ramp everything back up again in 2021 but the universe had other plans A few weeks ago I got an email with an amazing offer to take Verissima to the next level.
