25.01.2022 A note from David Dressing. No bowls or darts as yet. Tennis has been given the green light subject to council approval. I will keep you updated as things develop. Hope you are well. We’re nearly there. Seemingly November 1st is the day of reopening.... So I reckon we go with this. I hate saying we are getting closer to resume bowls and tennis. Darts only when we can go inside. However, from November 1st we get the green light to play. No numbers have been mentioned so far. It would therefore be difficult to make any announcement of what we can do come November 1. ( Could be Next Sunday ). Lets hope we can have more than 10 per green or more on the tennis courts. All along we have been planning for a quick start when restrictions are lifted. It should be acknowledged that Alan Lamb has been working so hard to be ready for the pennant season’s commencement. This is no mean task. He could not have done more in our preparedness for when we can actually hit the greens. Max has been doing a tremendous job under difficult circumstances. We have some big tournaments, never been seen before at Vermont. The tennis courts are being prepared for a quick start as well. It will be good to see the kids enjoying the game again. When talking maintenance it has been difficult for both sports. The greens must be maintained. We were able to get the council to allow Denis Quintal and his team ( who have done a great job ) to carry out weekly works. And only last week we obtained permission to conduct emergency court maintenance. In summary we have done everything possible to enable us to be prepared open up again. Once we have some dates we will notify everybody with our covid revival plans. Hang in there. Only a week or so away from seeing everybody again Cheers. David
24.01.2022 IT’S TIME TO HAVE A ROLE UP AND A PRACTICE. WE HAVE THE GREEN LIGHT. Same rules as before: Name and phone number and time you attended. Limits of ten people on the green.... Hand sanitiser to be used along with masks. Disinfectant spray to be used on mats and jacks. Outside toilets open, clubhouse closed. Max has created a booking system for the next couple of weeks and the link below will take you to that page. Every member who attends must be listed on the spread sheet. (Instructions are also on the spreadsheet for you to follow) There are two hour time blocks starting from 9am until 9pm except for Monday and Friday and on those days start time is 10am and that is for a one hour time slot. If anyone has difficulties with the booking system and can’t manage to book a time, I am happy to input your details for you if you make contact with me. Please call my mobile for that assistance. Pam.J. This is the link in blue that you click on to take you to the booking system. https://docs.google.com//1Z8-K-mEp9G1sLecIevq5cEexz7I/edit
24.01.2022 Update from David: Afternoon all Good news. We will receive notification from council within 24 hours with what we can and can't do in regard to opening greens and courts.... I have been asked to send an email with requests for maintenance which I will do. Hang in there and only a couple more sleeps and things will change. Most of you would know me as a totally optimistic young bloke. We just have to remain positive, but whatever we receive before the end of next week will be superseded next Sunday. However, you should give yourselves a pat on the back. Its been hard times and plenty of requests to do various stuff around the place have been rejected because of the rules. Not ours, but council. Apart from a couple of indiscretions we have been patiently waiting for the green light. Thank you all for being so supportive during the shut down. You have been brilliant in not so easy times. Speak soon, Cheers. DavidD

16.01.2022 A message from David Dressing Hello Everybody, Since our last message we have done absolutely everything that could be done during lockdown in terms of following the rules. There may have been, lets call it positive anticipation by a couple but no harm done and we move on. It is really important for all of us to hang in there for another 3 weeks, maybe earlier if the numbers continue to drop. We have to have a clean bill of health with council when we resume.... Whilst we have been in hibernation!! Max has been hard at work getting things ready for a quick start when we resume. One of those being a singles tournament open to anybody who would like to gave a crack. 8-10 of Victoria’s top bowlers have indicated that they will participate. The event was booked out 5 hours after it was announced. We are also hopeful of having an under 18 team for the first time ever. We will be speaking to schools as soon as we can to get things moving there. Social bowls will obviously be on the move immediately we get the nod. Plans are a foot for an all club revival party, apologies if I’ve mentioned that before, but we need to reacquaint ourselves with each other, what better way ti do it with sone music, finger food and a few drinks. There will be an invitation advising dates etc when we are able. My message has been one if positivity!! Stick to the task and we will grace the greens, floor and courts in no time. Speak to you again when we know more. And for all Saints supporters Go Saints Cheers. DavidD
14.01.2022 An update from David D WE ARE OPEN - BUT RULES APPLY. 10 per green with all covid safe rules need to be followed. Should know the off by heart !! Sanitise, mask up. Also must sign into the greens with name address and mobile number... There is a time sheet we’ll get the link for everybody tomorrow. There is a lot more to go through, so bare with us. Whilst we digest what we can and can’t do. We only received advice late this afternoon. We have been working ever since The time sheet must be used. We don’t want to upset anybody but with the allowable numbers we have to control how many people can be on the greens at the one time. At this point in time no-one is allowed to do gardening or any other maintenance until we get permission. Max will have the time sheet on face book and or website tonight. More to come Cheers. David
14.01.2022 Happy Christmas !
13.01.2022 Remember the great Jazz Days we had with Gavin and his band. What a fantastic time we had, hope we can have another when restrictions are lifted. Many old Jazzers were in the crowd reliving their youth. One of old Jazzer from our club has many fond memories of Jazz in the 60’s. He has even taken things a step further by having an article in the Herald Suns Black and White column yesterday. I wonder who the member is?
12.01.2022 Something else to drive you crazy during lockdown. Can you find the cat ? Put your answer in the comments box. Hope everyone is doing okay and we manage to get a little reprieve of restrictions on Sunday.

04.01.2022 Welcome back everyone! Great to have Wednesday Triples back on. It was also enjoyable to catch up with players during the break and after the game.
02.01.2022 Let’s hope we hear some good news on Sunday with the lifting of restrictions for us to have a COVID SAFE return to bowls. A roll up would be even a great start. By what Dan is saying about community sport I’m quietly confident that maybe we will be back. Hope everyone is remaining well, enjoying some sunny days and keeping up your fitness ready for us to hit the ground running when we get the green light. Will update you when we know more about our welcome return to the green.
