20.01.2022 Being healthy is so important, but it’s also ok to treat yourself sometimes.. with the colder weather upon us we thought we would share one of our favourite quick treats Mug Cake Mug cake ingredients... For this mug cake, you need: * Milk. I use whatever milk I have in the fridge, usually 2% or almond. * Oil. Try to use a neutral oil that doesn’t have any flavor like canola oil. * Flour. * Cocoa powder. For cocoa powder, we need the unsweetened kind, not hot chocolate milk. * Baking powder. * Sugar. You can adjust the sugar to you liking, or use a sugar alternative. * Chocolate chips. The chocolate gets melty and gooey and is the best part! I usually just chop up a bit of a chocolate bar/baking chocolate if I don’t have chocolate chips in the pantry. How to make mug cake: 1. Whisk. Whisk together the milk and oil in a mug. 2. Mix. In a bowl (or you can do this straight in the mug) mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. 3. Stir. Stir everything together then add the chocolate. 4. Microwave. Bake your mug cake in the microwave on a plate (in case of overflow), let cool slightly and dig in!

Body dissatisfaction is a major source of suffering among women of all ages. In a study by researchers Ellen R. Albertson, Kristin D. Neff and Karen E. Dill-Shackleford, women were assigned to either a meditation intervention group or a control group. Those in the intervention group received three-week self-compassion meditation training. Compared to the control group, the women in the intervention group experienced significantly greater reduction in body dissatisfaction, body shame and contingent self-worth based on appearance, as well as greater gains in self-compassion and body appreciation. 05.01.2022 Healthy Recipe: Caramelised garlic and spinach gnocchi with ricotta INGREDIENTS * 1 garlic bulb * 3/4 cup (185ml) extra virgin olive oil... * 1 bunch English spinach, chopped, plus extra spinach leaves to serve * 1/2 cup (40g) grated pecorino or parmesan, plus extra to serve * 500g gnocchi * 25g unsalted butter * 1 tbs white wine vinegar * 1 cup (240g) ricotta, crumbled * 1. Preheat oven to 220C. Place the garlic on a piece of foil, drizzle with 1 tbs oil and wrap to enclose. Place on a baking tray and roast for 30 minutes or until very soft. * 2. Squeeze the garlic from cloves into a food processor (discard garlic skins), with the spinach, pecorino and 1/2 cup (125ml) oil. Season, then whiz until smooth. Set aside. * 3. Cook the gnocchi in a large saucepan of boiling salted water according to packet instructions. Drain, reserving 1/3 cup (80ml) cooking liquid. * 4. Heat remaining 2 tbs oil and butter in a large frypan over medium-high heat. Add the gnocchi and cook, tossing, for 4-5 minutes until golden. Add the vinegar, reserved cooking liquid and spinach sauce, and toss through gnocchi. * 5. Divide gnocchi among bowls. Dot with ricotta, and sprinkle with the extra pecorino and spinach leaves.
