23.01.2022 When you forget the carrier you improvise! This didn't stop us getting outdoors and exploring. Here Kenzie and I are on a 5km morning hike around Lake Barrine in the Atherton Tablelands. Cooper walked himself with quite a bit of complaining of boredom after the first 2kms but he did it! and more importantly it's something my Mum and I wanted to do so the kids just had to fit in with the adults! Oh and as a Nutritionist I highly recommend some lollies for bribery as needed! #babywearing #malaysianbatik #myasianbaby #keepingactive #outdoors #nature #keepingkidsactive #exploring #holidays

16.01.2022 WATER SAFETY REMINDER I just wanted to share an experience we had on Friday. It was the first day of school holidays. Safe to say I was super excited. I would be working less, spending more time with the kids, less rushing around, less lunch packing, you get it! We headed to our friends home for a swim as it was a 38 degree day. There were 2 other mums around with their kids. We were having a blast. So relaxed. Kids were loving life. I was in the pool with Kenzie (3 yrs ...old), my little water baby was practicing her swimming with me (no floaties). Then a random gush of wind came. Glasses were broken; a large heavy umbrella was threatening to be blown away. I jumped out to help my friend who had her baby in her arms. I put Kenzie on the side of the pool and proceeded to get the umbrella under control. My friend recalls seeing Kenzie beside her. The boys kept swimming around doing what boys do. I can’t say how long it was could have been 30 seconds or longer but I realized I hadn’t heard Kenzie’s little voice in a while so looked around. She was in the middle of the pool face down. I dived in and got her to the side of the pool. She proceeded to vomit but she was conscious. She told me ‘lots of water’. The relief and terror I felt in that moment is something I won’t forget in a while. She obviously took in a fair amount of water so the weekend was spent monitoring her due to the risk of dry drowning. What shocked me is how quiet it all was, she wasn’t splashing around or making a commotion, I am told it looked like she was trying to keep herself up, honestly it was so traumatic when I saw her in the water I just reacted and got to her as fast as I could. Cooper said he should have seen her as well as he could have got her. Bless him. I assured him it wasn’t his fault. I wanted to share because this moment of brief distraction could have had a much worse outcome. I feel so so so crappy about it but my little girl who has no fear wanted to get back in the water and I let her but with floaty and no further distractions. I still can't believe how quickly it all happened. #watersafety #learntoswim See more

14.01.2022 Winning! Can you see all the green! Cooper took one look at it and I quickly informed him that it is full of goodness from our neighbours garden...spring onions and silverbeet. 'oh goody' he said. This is his second serving. A year ago do I think he would eat something with so much green? .....I don't think so. Moral of the story keep serving those veggies and get the kids growing their own. #frittata #quiche #springonion #silverbeet #zucchini #sweetpotato #rosemary #yesweeatdinnerearly #needtofinishveggiegarden

02.01.2022 All the feels! We will be serving homemade burrito bowls on a regular basis these school holidays. A bit fun and packed with fresh 'real' food. Enjoy for lunch or dinner! #brownrice #blackbeans #chicken #corriander #avo #tomato #corn #cucumber #lime
