24.01.2022 Last year was a pretty crazy year for me. I actully feel like it was a pretty crazy year for many of you. I had a bunch of things happen all at once that put me in a big of a trance - (think blurry groundhog day sprinkled with 20 standard drinks a day.) Now this may appear to be a new year, new me video; and it kind of is, but I dont think theres a problem with that. ... For me the 1st of January is the start of the new year but its also the start of a quarter and the start of a month so why not start something new on the 1st? The plan I am working on now is something I have been working on (with help) for the months leading into December 31st. This video is designed to make me accountable to you, AGAIN. 23.01.2022 @waterproau would not exist without technology. We run a fully customised open source accounting and inventory management system. It's second to none. But.... It's CRM is not to my liking. It's not simple enough to use. It's not powerful enough. So today we met with Ben from @tradiemasterclass to explore the integration of @zoho I truely believe a high quality CRM in the hands of high quality people (we have them already) will double our turnover in under 3 years. 09.01.2022 Drinking this epic double IPA from @alefarmbrewing brings back some memories of my time in Denmark. I wasn't 'car ready' and ended up walking 3.5km from a repurposed meat packing district to my hotel. Well to be honest, I stumbled along cobblestone roads in the freezing cold - totally worth it but. The place was so cool. From memory, it was government owned and you had to apply to be a tennant. They only let to unique non corporate businesses. Independent good shops and club...s. Basically no Maccas, no major breweries I spent most of my time in this littke hotdog shop that sold craft beer. Anyway, moral of the story is I'm going back to Denmark to drink beer once the world is back to normal. Also, Alefarm make real nice beer. 09.01.2022 I gave my ute a spray this morning on the way to Kent Town and got thinking about the value of one dollar. When my mates and I got our first cars we used to wash our cars regularly at a coin operated car wash for under $3. How?... 1. We moved fast, like really fast. 2. We cheated and took our own bucket and sponge - this wasn't supported by the owner of the wash. Today, I spent $4 casually spraying bird crap off. I didn't even wash it properly. The money I had was incidental. If it was more convenient I would have happily paid $50 to have it washed. So what's changed? Ultimately I have more $1 coins available than I did 20 years ago. How so? 1. Multiple streams of income. 2. I know how to generate more money than I need. 3. I don't need much. 4. I'm no longer on a fixed income. Anyway, just me thinking for 4mins and 45 secs. 08.01.2022 If running 3 businesses has taught me anything it's that you need to freely delegate to your team and know that they'll get it done. That's why you hired them right?! By doing so it not only frees your mind up to concentrate on what's next but the business gets more done (even if it's only 80% to your lofty standards perfectionists).... For me it doesn't always come naturally and it's something I have to keep pushing, but to grow to $100m it's the only way. Do you struggle with delegation?

06.01.2022 This is a photo of me pretending to meditate (because why would anyone have a photographer in the room while meditating). It's been about 2 weeks now since I've gone back to meditation daily and I'm so glad I found it again. I paid about $1500 to learn ... transcendental meditation (TM) properly (in 2013 I think) - if you can't afford it, it's not completely necessary to learn this way but I felt like I needed to commit. So why did I go back to TM? I was reading some journalling from 2016 and there was a paragraph about what I was doing when I felt at my best, the most clear of mind. The keys for me: 1. Only drink water 2. Meditation twice daily 3. Plant based diet 4. Daily exercise 5. Write goals daily Now don't get me wrong, I'm far from doing that list daily. But I'm working on being better at it daily. Why? Because I can't afford to be tired and doughy. A business will never outgrow it's director. It is about tackling whatever challenges life presents us by removing our mask, being vulnerable and saying to the world this is who I am, who are you? As Business Owners and Leaders we understand the importance of mental health and well-being. We see it with the teams we lead, the people we enco...unter and in the reflection in the mirror. Our aim is to remove our mask, be vulnerable and show people that no matter what level of success we all achieve throughout our lives that working on yourself is a 365-day a year job, forever. This is why I'm doing the THREESIXFIVE 12 Week Fitness Challenge. Well its part of the reason. People close to me know that I have put my health on the back burner for most of my life, what most don't know is that recently I suffered from anxiety and on Easter Sunday took myself to hospital with what I thought was a heart attack. Luckily I hadn't had a heart attack. But it gave me a lot to think about. D'Artagnan Carlisle MacDonald from THREESIXFIVE and I talk often about all things life and business and when he put this challenge on the table I embraced it wholly (pretty sure I told him I was going to destroy him). I see this as a great opportunity to get my health back on track, to raise money and awareness around mental health as well as set the tone for who I wan't to be for the rest of my life. So where do you fit in? I need donations! Lots of them. Big and small. The only thing that matters is that the total amount exceeds D'Artagnan's total!!! In all seriousness.
