We haven’t laid 2020 to rest just yet... we still get to see all our talented athletes online and however the next few weeks pan out we will have our showcase and end of year awards in some shape or form. 2021 will be bigger and stronger than ever! 18.01.2022 So now that I have kind of recovered from our showcase on Saturday.... It’s time to reflect... This year has been crazy to say the least. It has hit some hard but has affected us all in some way. I am forever grateful for our green army family for staying by our side through it all. I am forever grateful for the new families that came on board this year. I am forever grateful to my staff who hit our covid restrictions in the teeth and still managed to achieve amazing sessions... and goals with our teams. I am forever grateful to our athletes who make me so proud. Not once did I get a call from a family to say they can’t do this.. that they don’t want to do online or that they can’t handle all these changes.. are we on? Are we closed? Too many changes! And so on... Yes it got confusing for some, but we fought through it together and we made it over the line. We missed out on some things this year but was introduced to doing them in a different way. Our showcase streamlined didn’t go as planned (behind the scenes) but we still made it happen. And the athletes had a ball! I had a ball watching them bring our greatest showman themed showcase come alive We also farewelled one of our most talented and loved athletes and Ready Set Dance instructor @jace_goncalves we wish him all the best and we know we will see him one day in cirque de Soleil I can not wait until 2021... we will be and we will continue to rise above. Thanks covid for introducing us to a different way of still getting things done. Nothing will beat us... Nothing will bring us down. Afterall... we are ! Together we will rise and survive! Our last woo hoo on the weekend for our Cheercon Christmas Nationals streaming then we will be signing off for the new year break and back on deck in January for our school holiday camps. 18.01.2022 So...it's been a few days since we attended our first live in person event over the weekend at Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) Spring Carnival at Titanium Arena. Thank you Rosemary Sims-James, Stephen James and staff for being able to hold this event. It was a full on and exhausting weekend for us staff, but to see the faces and excitement from our athletes to just be on stage again was all worth it. We could not be more proud of all our cheerleaders and d...ancers not only for all the amazing performances you showed us last weekend (some brought us to tears with the emotion we could feel in the crowd) and yes the placings we got were icing on the cake... ...but also for surviving this tough year, we got through this together and it only happened because of the dedication and 100% commitment everyone gave especially while online. 07.01.2022 Dance has always been a part of VES but in this year we have had an influx of interest and it continues to grow.... our dancers did us proud at their first event for 2020. For a lot of them it’s their first time with us and hence going online for a period of time in training and then to have their first competition experience as a virtual one, hats off to them. The resilience these kids have grown to learn, the obstacles they have had to endure this year and yet they keep go...ing with passion and commitment is something I know we are proud of and I’m sure so are their parents. Congratulations to all of you and of course to our head dance coach @caralaco You have led these athletes all the way...you are a great role model, a talented coach and a great friend. Thank you for all your hard work, time and effort in producing such amazing work with our VES dancers. They are beautiful and improving on a weekly basis. This is a friendly reminder to not rush your time in this sport (a bit like not wishing you were older, enjoy each age).
