17.01.2022 And its a wrap . Lucy had a thorough check up today, and although she was a little anxious , we went slow, and she was great . And resilient enough to come up for pats afterwards ! . Early signs of stress or anxiety in dogs include licking of lips (like in the photo), yawning, lifting a front leg and doing a big shake. 15.01.2022 This big boy is 50kg+ and he can be tough to handle. His fear of the vet has meant he hadnt had a thorough check over in years. After discussing his needs, we sedated him and did the works: blood tests, dental check, heart auscultation, abdominal palpation, skin exam, rectal exam and nail trim. Here he is having a little gentle persuasion to wake up afterwards. He was standing within half an hour . We did a total of 4 feline blood tests today , checking for things like kidney disease (unfortunately pretty common in older cats), thyroid disease, liver parameters, diabetes, and red and white blood cell health. 10.01.2022 Dr Kirsten came to our home to euthanise our beloved dog, Jordie on 27 May 2021. Jordie took to her the moment she entered our home....she had a calmness about... her and Jordie was instantly at ease with her. I'm sure Jordie knew she was there to help him. Throughout the euthanasia process Dr Kirsten explained everything that was about to happen and what could happen and gave us time to be with Jordie before and after the process. We are so thankful for Dr Kirsten's empathy, calmness and kindness in our time of sadness and for helping Jordie cross the Rainbow Bridge with dignity. We can highly recommend Dr Kirsten.
