23.01.2022 Did you know Dogs can develop lip fold dermatitis that can cause pruritus, which in some cases is very painful and there is often significant secondary infection with yeast and or bacteria (that at times can be quite odiferous. Some breeds, particularly those with excessive folding of the skin may be more predisposed to this condition. In many cases this condition can be managed with topical medications and less commonly corrective surgery may be required. Consult your regular veterinarian if you think your pooch may be affected by this condition

17.01.2022 Meet Rufus! @adventures_of_rufus_and_mila Rufus is the sweetest 5 year old pooch you will ever meet and is a genuine favourite at VDC! Rufus first visited us at The Village Vet in Downer in 2018.... Rufus was extremely pruritic (itchy) and had significant secondary infection. This was distressing for both Rufus and his parents. Rufus had intradermal and serological allergy testing and has been on immunotherapy for nearly 18 months and he is progressing fabulously! He is now able to live comfortably and enjoy life!

Here is Eliska performing an intradermal test on gorgeous Lucy the chocolate lab (don't worry, Lucy is under anaesthesia and happily dreaming!) The results will help us to devise a management plan so she and her humans can be a lot more comfortable and happy!
