22.01.2022 Just a reminder that Mates4Mates centres will be closed for the Easter break from tomorrow, Friday 3rd April (Good Friday). Townsville and Brisbane will re-open... on Tuesday 7th April and the Hobart Centre will re-open as usual on Wednesday. All classes and appointments will recommence as usual once Centres reopen. 15.01.2022 The newly formed Veterans Federation's vision, is to make Veterans Welfare issues a thing of the past. A Veterans Welfare Precinct is being developed at the old 85 Transport depot, as soon as the powers that be pull their fingers out and give us the keys! Please contact your local member for parliament and urge them to give us the keys pronto! The Veterans Welfare Precinct will be a facility that adopts a Forged Steel concept, Veterans have been in the fire pit. They have tak...en repeated knocks, yet just like cast iron, this makes us stronger. Just like forged steel. A lot of Veterans it's seems have forgotten this, or were never aware of it in the first place. At the facility, any mission driven ESO is able to utilise the facility to help Veterans. Veterans Federation is free of ego and it's only agenda is to help Veterans and their families. No members of the Veterans Federation can attest to membership for personal gain. Any photos of the federation doing good deeds will see the members faces blurred SF style, as it is a cloak and dagger operation. The mission is the focus! The front of house of the facility will have a bunk house, office space for psych's, Doctors, employment and transition training, an art and craft building including paint, sculpting, music and any Veterans oriented interest groups, sporting etc. The back of the compound will be the Veterans MC clubhouse. It is hoped that those Veterans who may not wish to come forward and approach a psych or councillor, may be interested in attending a Veterans Motorcycle Club function. As soon as the Veterans Federation takes possession of the compound on Moorebank Ave, we can begin making the vision a reality. Let's create Tradition and let's make Veterans Welfare issues a thing of the past. See more
