15.01.2022 Look closely and you'll realise this isn't your regular duckling family portrait. In fact, the one with his eyes closed is probably hoping that he won't be seen... at all... This is the scene that surprised a West Australian farmer when he checked on his pet ducklings this week. And the interloper? That's a rare baby bandicoot. How the marsupial got there is a mystery. But the fact he's loving the warmth provided by the mother duck most certainly is not. While he'd normally live on insects, berries and even fungi, it appears he's learnt that duck food might be an easier meal. Amazingly at this age, he's most likely still returning to his real mum for periods of time during the day; when he's not at ducky day care. (Pic 9News)
