11.01.2022 This popped up in my news feed this morning.. a post of mine from 2 years ago... still resonates so much with me... these are the things that drive me.. Spending the weekend in Sydney for meetings... as I go into this I realise why I do it. All I want is high quality training for veterinary nurses no matter where they train, recognition from the general public about what veterinary nurses do and how much they contribute to our industry, a true team approach within all veterinary practices, and registration for veterinary nurses to make us responsible and accountable for our actions. Not much to ask for right...? Jasmine - VNCA President

04.01.2022 First up in our pre VN day celebrations is Zoe Markham, one of our newest board members and veterinary nurse from Tasmania! Heres why Zoe loves being a vet nurse... Why do I love being a Vet Nurse? The amount of things that I get to do and accomplish in this career is amazing and honestly mind blowing. The patients I get to care for, the clients I get to meet, the staff that I have the privilege of calling my friends, the knowledge that I have learnt, the places I have been... able to go (SA, QLD, TAS, the Middle East just to name a couple), the list just goes on and on. I love that now in my career I have the ability to help teach, guide and encourage other Vet Nurses to be the best Vet Nurses that they can be. Passing on knowledge that I have gained over the years is a privilege and seeing those Nurses using that information in their daily jobs, well it puts a huge smile on my face and honestly makes me so happy! Being on the VNCA Board is something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I remember when I was sitting in an AGM (many years ago!), I was in awe looking at all those amazing people on the board with their knowledge and experience thinking, I want to be up there. It wasn't me that had faith in myself, it was people I met at the VNCA that had faith in me and told me 'you can do this'. (I'm still pinching myself) I'm looking forward to being a part of the VNCA for a long time to come learning more, meeting more people (because I love meeting new people!), Encouraging others to aim high and generally enjoying the amazing profession that we are all a part of! Keep aiming high and if you need a boost you just let me know, I'll show you just how amazing you are! Zoe
