25.01.2022 Woofa passed peacefully at home today surrounded by love. He fought a brave fight against mast cell tumours and failing mobility for as long as he could, until his owners knew it was time for him to rest. He had a life full of love and adventure travelling far and wide around WA, chasing pebbles in rivers and wagging his tail loudly against doors until he got attention! His owners knew they only had a few days left to enjoy him this week, so they put up a tent in the backyard and took him ‘camping’ because he loved it so much. Run free beautiful boy

25.01.2022 The final farewell

24.01.2022 My first patient today decided he wanted to come on my rounds with me

24.01.2022 This is one gutsy little Daffodil, enjoying life to the full. Have a great weekend everyone!

23.01.2022 Eight million horses died in WW1 Lest we forget

22.01.2022 Happy Friday, everyone! Have a fabulous weekend

22.01.2022 Pudd Cat having her ultrasound today, she had a nice sedation and was given the 'all clear' by the specialist which made her owner very happy

21.01.2022 A lovely card from Occa bless him! Still smiling despite a few ongoing health problems. Such a lucky dog to be so well cared for by his doting owners

21.01.2022 UPDATE...... Trey’s spleen has no sinister cells, it is enlarged because it is working hard to correct Trey’s anaemia. This is great news for Trey and his owners!! This is Trey having an ultrasound scan of his abdomen. Trey has been losing weight and not feeling 100%. Dr Jarrad from Perth Veterinary Ultrasound was able to locate some abnormal tissue in his spleen and take a little needle biopsy. We will keep our fingers crossed for Trey and his lovely owners while we wait for the results and hope he starts feeling better soon

20.01.2022 UPDATE Diesel has been for a few gentle walks to the park the last few days and is starting to feel a bit more like himself! .....Poor Diesel (a Maremma) was not feeling well today so we set up a 'hospital at home' to rehydrate him and start his treatment for meningitis and set him on the road to recovery

19.01.2022 Made me smile...

19.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day

19.01.2022 Quite a contrast to our zoo yesterday but how much fun does this look??

18.01.2022 What a beautiful friendship

17.01.2022 More puppy cuddles!! This litter of 5 boys and 2 girls had their first vaccinations and microchips today Some of these Dachsunds are still looking for homes

17.01.2022 A Sunday morning giggle for all cat owners out there!

16.01.2022 We can’t recommend Andrea enough. We had to put our beautiful Indy to sleep when she should still have had many years left. Andrea dealt with Indy and us with so much compassion it made a very sad time a little more bearable. I have and will continue to recommend Andrea.

16.01.2022 Happy Friday All!

16.01.2022 Last weekend the Gregor family said goodbye to their gorgeous old boy Charlie. Charlie played an important role as a beloved family pet, but also as a foster ‘mum’ to an orphan sheep. The sheep, now fully grown, was completely besotted with Charlie, and actually thinks she is a dog. Although she has shown no interest in bonding with other sheep, the family are hoping they can now slowly get her to adjust to life as a sheep...... see video in comments

16.01.2022 Does this look familiar?!! Let the vet come to you!!

15.01.2022 Absolutely true!

14.01.2022 A very Merry Christmas from me and my furry friends to you and yours

13.01.2022 Euthanasia, the saddest and toughest visit I have to make. Despite performing many hundreds over the years, every single one leaves a small mark etched upon my soul, I remember a detail or two about the animal's life, I remember the heartbroken tears in the owner’s eyes, and I remember the look of surrender and peace in the animal’s eyes as they transition to a better place where there is no more pain. This week we said goodbye to Jumbo, one on the most beautiful, majestic and gentle dogs I have ever had the pleasure of looking after. RIP Jumbo, forever running free

13.01.2022 UPDATE-thank you so much to everyone who has helped with this, we are now very close to finding the perfect match. I am in need of an affectionate small dog of any age to heal an elderly lady's heart. I had to help her 16 year old dog go to heaven today, and leaving her at home alone with no family whatsoever in Australia was upsetting to say the least. Please let me know if you hear of a little dog that needs a lap to sit on. Thank you.

12.01.2022 2 of my beautiful young healthy patients got their Angel Wings this week very suddenly and unexpectedly. Fonzie was attacked by a large uncontrolled dog, and Daisy chased a bird onto a busy road and was hit by a car. So unbelievably tragic, lives cut so short, they passed away in their owner’s arms. I’ll be cuddling my doggos even closer tonight, they are so very special. My thoughts are with Fonzie’s and Daisy’s families at this difficult time.

12.01.2022 This one always makes me smile. Have a great weekend everyone

10.01.2022 Oh my heart Have a lovely weekend and cuddle your doggos tight, they are not here for long enough

10.01.2022 Please see my newly updated website for more detailed information, testimonials and pricing. www.vetvisits.com.au

10.01.2022 Good knowledge to have if you happen to come across a baby bird...

10.01.2022 Laugh out loud.

09.01.2022 Just a little ‘feel good’ story with a happy ending. A client of mine in Joondalup found what he thought was a skinny bedraggled looking kitten in his back yard and eventually managed to entice it into his house where it ate ravenously and then fell asleep on his lap. He called to ask me to find a home for it as he could not keep it. When I arrived I could see that it was actually an adult but in emaciated condition. Fortunately it had a microchip which I was able to trace to... an address in Alkimos 16 kilometres away. The cat’s name is Baby Davey, and his delighted owner Angela got the most amazing surprise to hear that she was alive. She had always been an indoor cat but had got out under the garage door and disappeared 4 weeks earlier, Angela had thought she was gone forever. How and why she ended up so far away in Joondalup will remain a mystery! They were happily reunited later that day See more

09.01.2022 UPDATE -both kittens have wonderful new homes Looking for a home for this abandoned ginger female kitten (the one on the left) Please share and spread the word! Beautiful playful little bundle of gorgeousness

08.01.2022 Made me chuckle!

08.01.2022 This is Max, all relaxed and chilled out whilst being examined and treated on her mum’s bed! No more cat carriers, car trips or clinic visits. Just gentle care in the safety of her own territory

08.01.2022 Visiting one of my favourite patients Lucky. Such a gorgeous boy whom I met on the day he was born and have seen regularly over the years for his vaccinations and occasional ear infections. I love being able to follow my patients through every stage of their lives

07.01.2022 Vet visits come in all shapes and sizes..... Today I paid Elmo a visit on his owner's yacht where they were moored in Mindarie. Elmo had sustained a bit of a scrape whilst setting sail for Broome. All fixed now, time for some R and R with his feline mate Edwitch. Bon Voyage to you all!

07.01.2022 Stellar had a little operation on the kitchen table today! She was very brave, had a little twilight sedation and when she woke up her dew claw felt much more comfortable

07.01.2022 We all know how tricky it can be medicating our dogs. My favourite sticky foods for pill administration are Philadelphia cheese and peanut butter, in moderation of course

06.01.2022 This made me LAUGH OUT LOUD!

06.01.2022 To all who have loved and lost their best friend. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. This video is for you.

05.01.2022 'Bouncy' is a 4 week old stray kitten rescued from Bouncers Sports Centre today by the fire department. She had been living in a drain pipe and is very thin but full of determination and the will to survive! She is now content with a full tummy at home with Veterinary Visits and being watched over by Louie and Indi who think Christmas has come early! Here's wishing her a speedy recovery!

05.01.2022 I am so happy to tell you that Bouncy has a wonderful new home! Thank you so much for welcoming her into your family Sean and for giving her the apt name of 'Eve' since she came home with you on 24th December. Wishing you all the best

05.01.2022 In my amazing profession there are good days and sad days. Sometimes it is nice to be reminded that even the sad days can be perceived as special days as kindly pointed out by Max's owner......

05.01.2022 Oh my goodness I absolutely love going to ‘work’ each day!!!

04.01.2022 Bouncy is doing brilliantly! Loving her bottle feeds and starting to eat kitten food. I have completely fallen in love with her . She will be ready for a very special and loving fur-ever home in about one to 2 weeks. Please message me if you can help

04.01.2022 What a beautiful love story

04.01.2022 .... 01/01/2019 UPDATE - Occy went on to live another 12 months!! He sadly needed some help to go to Heaven a few weeks ago when his quality of life had significantly diminished. This is Occy. Poor boy had a very nasty post op infection and I really thought we were going to lose him. But he has started to rally after some fluid therapy and 3 different antibiotics and some great nursing by his owners. He is starting to show some interest in food again (Peters Drumstick ice cream no less!) and I hope he will go on to make a full recovery

04.01.2022 What a clever dog!!

03.01.2022 Update* Louie’s surgery to amputate his toe resulted in a complete cure and he is happily galloping around at the park again. Thank you for all your heartfelt wishes!

02.01.2022 Our furry friends have a lot to teach us

02.01.2022 These are my 2 fluff balls, love them more than words can say

02.01.2022 No matter how much training you put in, distractions like this are simply irresistible

01.01.2022 Luna’s skin itches and scratches are playing havoc at this time of year. Luckily there are some very effective treatments with no side effects, that literally switch off that annoying itch. I’ll see you soon Luna!!

01.01.2022 To all my lovely clients I am open for business! Even if you are having to isolate I can still help your furry friends, even by telemedicine if necessary. Don’t hesitate to call if you need help To all my lovely clients I am open for business! Even if you are having to isolate I can still help your furry friends, even by telemedicine if necessary. 01.01.2022 Today I vet checked, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated 15 Tibetan Mastiff puppies..... yes from the same litter!!! Huge well done to mum and owners Nat and Deb who nurtured and cared for such a large litter, all your hard work has paid off. 8 boys and 7 girls all fighting fit and ready for their fur-ever homes. (8 pups still available only to the very best of homes)

01.01.2022 Thank you so much for your kind words, Amber.... Cannot recommend Andrea enough!! She arrived within one hour of my call and took all the stress of having to go to the vet with my cat (and newborn baby in tow!) off my shoulders. Thank you so much!! We will be using your services now for both of our animals

01.01.2022 Poor Noah has an aural haematoma which is like a big blood-filled bruise in his ear flap. Being a 100kg Great Dane he is not an ideal candidate for the surgery required to fix his problem so we are trying a conservative approach, draining and bandaging his ear flat on top of his head to stop it filling up again. Noah did not look too impressed with his new head gear, but we hope his ear will be more comfortable in a few days! G.D.L.A.W.A - Great Dane Lovers Association of Western Australia
