She is now a very sweet and loud girl who comes running for a pat. She has learnt to tolerate some dogs but she doesnt like to share her humans with any other cats. 16.01.2022 A good Samaritan saved this possum from their pet dogs and brought him into the Kuraby clinic. This little guy is unharmed but seems to have lost its mother. We make sure they get the appropriate triage and sent them off to the RSPCA to be placed with a carer. He will be released once he can fend for himself. #vetlove #wildlife #ringtailpossum

15.01.2022 Meet Duncan Sometimes garden mishaps can happen - little Duncan's owner noticed he was holding his mouth strangely and drooling alot. They quickly noticed something was stuck in his mouth. He required a general anaesthetic to remove the object and asses any damaged. The object was well and truly wedged in there. Fortunately there was no further damage in his mouth. As you can see in the photo it was a small part of the spine of a palm. Duncan is one happy boy now

A healthy and well WILD bluetongue decided to just walk through the clinic door with one of our clients and his dog. We are not sure where he came from and why he wanted to visit the vet. After a quick check over, he was all well and happy so we released him back into the bush! 08.01.2022 Poor little Puffy came into the clinic as his owner had noticed he was straining to pass urine. After a consult with Dr Catherine he was diagnosed with feline lower urinary tract disease, Puffy was admitted into hospital for a blood test, intravenous fluids, pain relief and an anaesthetic to place a urinary catheter to unblock his urethra. He was doing well in hospital and passing urine with the catheter placed. By the second afternoon in hospital the catheter could be removed and Puffy could go home. He will now be put onto a special urinary diet for the rest of his life called Hills c/d stress to help promote desirable pH levels in his urine, manage stress and dissolve any struvite crystals

08.01.2022 Update on Megpie. This lucky cat has found herself a new home after being our clinic cat for 18months. She rubbed her face all over her new dad's hand when he came into the clinic one day and landed herself a new family. She has settled in well, starting to enjoy her new routine. She has gained a bit of weight but that really only happens when you are happy and relaxed!! 01.01.2022 Meet Schultz the German Shepard He came into the clinic as his owner was concerned about a lump on his paw that was growing quite quickly. Dr Nell recommended removal of the lump and to ensure the whole lump was removed incase it was something nasty a decision was made to remove the whole toe. Schultz was such a good boy for his procedure and hes been healing well at home, he will adapt easily to only having 3 toes too
