06.01.2022 PARVOVIRUS UPDATE We have had another confirmed parvo case today and we suspect more to come. The warmer weather and unvaccinated dogs is a parvovirus playground Just a reminder to be vigilant with your dogs vaccination schedule. If you're not sure of their vaccination status contact your vet for information The cases we have already seen have been unvaccinated or hadn't completed their course of vaccinations as a puppy. Vaccination is your dogs best defence against t...his horrible virus. Your dog does not need to leave his yard to contract parvo. You can bring it home on your shoes or car tyres if you come into contact with an infected dogs secretions. The 3 confirmed cases have all come from the Lincoln South area, so we particularly urge anyone living in this area to be especially careful and keep your dogs at home- avoid walking them around the streets and only visit with dogs you know are fully vaccinated.
