25.01.2022 An update on the Heritage Golf Course roos from Save the Kinley Kangas - Lilydale. Devastating news and revolting behaviour!

21.01.2022 - Name: Claire Bingley - Location: Melbourne, Victoria - Occupation: I assist in my partner’s business wherever I’m needed. - Role at VFC: I help with events, fundraising and am a board member for VFC - Favourite animal: I love all animals, my favourite is my 11 year old Spoodle, Harvey but I have been known to rescue snails from being squashed on the footpath.... How long have you been a VFC volunteer? I‘ve been a VFC volunteer for 6 and a half years. How did you hear about VFC? Dr. Elaine Ong has been my dog’s vet for many years. I bumped into Elaine while walking our dogs and we got talking about VFC. Elaine asked if I was interested in helping and I jumped at the chance. I was so impressed with the work they were doing and could see the potential growth and success of VFC, in terms of making a real impact and change for animal welfare. What is your favourite thing about being a VFC volunteer? There are many things I love about being a VFC! I have met some truly amazing, hard working, talented and compassionate people. What is your most memorable rescue/job/project with VFC? Seeing so many animals being saved and cared for is really uplifting, in a world where animals have no say and are suffering in silence. Some of the most memorable experiences include the incredible teamwork to get our VFC vets and carers on the ground during and after the bushfires. At a time when many people felt helpless to assist these suffering animals, our team worked day and night together, to make a real difference. The support from people around the world was heartwarming. I also had the opportunity to meet Pei Su, co-founder of Act Asia during a trip to London, her words were very inspiring. Another memorable moment was when we were lucky enough to have Lyn White from Animals Australia speak at one of our fundraisers. A personal hero of mine, she talked about the close relationship between humans and animals and how kindness can change everything. What do you do when you’re not volunteering with VFC? When I’m not volunteering, I enjoy traveling and dining out with my partner, and walking Harvey in some of our beautiful parks. #animalwelfare #volunteers #vets #vetsforcompassion

20.01.2022 We’ve been very busy over the last couple of weeks and the lockdown here in Victoria has made things a little tricky so you you may have noticed that we’ve been a little bit quiet with introducing you to our incredible team. But it’s time to pick back up and what better way to do so than to introduce you to the amazing and talented Sarah Crowley who does design work for us when we need it. ========= - Name: Sarah Crowley... - Location: Melbourne, Australia - Occupation: Architect and Graphic Designer - Role at VFC: Graphic Design - Favourite animal: All the animals but I do have a very special soft spot for my scruffy black rescue pup, Arthur. How long have you been a VFC volunteer? Since 2020 How did you hear about VFC? Through volunteering at Humane Research Australia Inc What is your favourite thing about being a VFC volunteer? Helping with their graphic design, and raising awareness about animal welfare through design. What is your most memorable rescue/job/project with VFC? The Kingley Kangas project. What do you do when you’re not volunteering with VFC? I work full time as an architect and graphic designer. I have my own graphic design business Florence Design. One of my very favourite things to do is to combine my love for animals and graphic design, and that my design skills can help raise awareness about animal welfare issues. #animals #wildlife #animalrescue #animalwelfare #volunteers #vets #vetsforcompassion

20.01.2022 "Thor" the owl was recently taken into Balwyn Central Vet Hospitall after being found with wire in his wing. After being treated, we was taken to Healesville Sanctuary who are taking wonderful care of him. The lucky boy is being hand fed food as well as getting lots of treatment and dressing changes on his injured wing. He is in the very best care and we hope that he will improve and be able to fly again.

13.01.2022 Update on little Hippy who was found with a dislocated hip after his mum was hit by a car and passed away. He’s much more comfortable and being well looked after at St Andrew’s Wildlife Shelter. As you can see from the video, his appetite hasn’t been effected one bit!
