18.01.2022 Has anyone been taking up the 'First Responder's Day' offers today? For those who aren't aware, over 100 retailers, covering more than a thousand individual stores, are participating in the Australian Retail Association’s First Responders Day, offering discounts to first responders across the medical, police, defence, and firefighting sectors. The day is intended to thank first responders for their service to the Australian community through COVID-19, bushfires and beyond. It... follows from the inaugural First Responders Day held mid-pandemic last year. Offers are available to Australian-based first responders including medical and health workers such as doctors, nurses and paramedics, as well as ambulance staff, police personnel, firefighters, defence and border force personnel, SES, lifesavers and quarantine workers. The Australian Retail Association says that first responders can access discounts by showing a photo ID that shows their work identity, or by shopping in their work uniform. 09.01.2022 With the help of their local community including donations from Silver Wings, Bunnings Northam, Simon Gray Saddlery, Midland Sydney, members of Wundowie Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service worked hard to create a welfare trailer. The welfare trailer will be used when engaging with their local community and to feed the troops when out at big incidents. Feel welcome to touch base with Wundowie VFRS to find out more if your brigade is considering building something similar. ... #WelfareTrailer #WundowieVFRS #WundowieWA #VolunteerFireAndRescueServicesWA #DFES #VolunteeringInWA #Volunteer #VFRS #VollieFirefighters #FireFighters #HelpingOthers #VolunteeringAustralia #PeopleWhoCare #FireAndRescue #VolunteerFireAndRescue #VolunteerWork #VolunteerWorkPerth #BecomeAVolunteer

01.01.2022 Can you dig it? The Minister for Emergency Services Reece Whitby MLA and our Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM got their hands dirty turning the first sod f...or Gingin’s state-of-the-art co-located facility, which will be home to Gingin South Bush Fire Brigade and Gingin Volunteer Fire & Rescue. The new $2.2 million, Emergency Service Levy funded facility will not only have room for 6 vehicles and 72 personnel during incidents, it will also have the capacity to operate as an Incident Control Centre! This means local large-scale emergencies, like the Red Gully bushfire in January, can be managed within the region.
