10.01.2022 State Award Winner Join us as we take a look at the projects that were named the best in Queensland this year! People's Choice Award 2020: The Redwood Proje...ct by first-time awards entrants, VHD Studio "The client wished to build a home on a block of land on the Toowoomba escarpment. The block sloped steeply from the road and the design of the building needed to both respond to this whilst also creating a dwelling that was easy to live in. By creating a floor plate in which all living areas are on the 'top floor', sometimes difficult on a site such as this, the ceiling shape was able to be manipulated in a way which allowed the full extent of the view to enter the dwelling. The way in which this view is maintained through the dwelling creates a connection to place that is vital to the built environment."
