24.01.2022 Yesterday marked the beginning of NAIDOC Week an opportunity for all Australians to come together and celebrate the rich history, diverse cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This month the Ballarat and District Aboriginal Co-operative Medical and Regional Health Hub also celebrated one year since their official opening. The dedicated medical facility and health hub incorporates Aboriginal art and design features. The result is a spa...ce that is culturally sensitive and promotes understanding, respect and celebration of Aboriginal culture while also bringing high quality medical, health and community services under one roof. Once complete next year, the centre will provide young people living in Melbourne’s inner west with greater treatment options for mental illness. 19.01.2022 Melbourne’s CBD now has its first Changing Places Australia 24/7 accessible bathroom for people with high support needs located at Collins Place at 35 Collins St. The new facility will make it easier for people living with disability to visit the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and nearby destinations. 14.01.2022 We’ve appointed service providers for our seven new early parenting centres. The seven new centres will be built in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Frankston, Casey, Wyndham and Whittlesea. 12.01.2022 Nexus Primary Health’s $3.7M Broadford Community Health Centre redevelopment is been now complete, thanks to a grant through the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF). The project has tripled the number of consulting rooms including general practice treatment rooms, multi-use consulting rooms and larger paediatric consulting spaces.
