25.01.2022 Always fascinating to watch! It makes you realise the importance of striving to find the best saddle possible for your horse. This involves way more than just correct gullet width and saddle platform length. You need to also consider channel width along the whole saddle area, shape of tree from front to back, shape of panels, gussets (front and back, depth and length and height of stitchlines) , materials used for the tree - how flexible/rigid or if a combination, girthing system..... So many points to consider but SO incredibly rewarding to see the change in horses when they find their favourite!

21.01.2022 It really is total Excellence!!! So pleased to introduce the Ryder Excellence saddle. It has just arrived and is already well and truly living up to its name. A super comfy seat built on a tree designed especially for the wider horses. Hoop shaped gullet, very wide channel and beautifully made back panels as we have come to expect from the Ryder range of saddles. At the trade show on the weekend this was one of the most popular saddles and we are so impressed with how it sits... on the horses. The riders sit incredibly close to the horse so it is easy to communicate and feel. It can be made as a monoflap, as a duel flap with a molded flap over a fixed knee roll or with velco, moveable and changeable knee rolls under a padded flap as shown in this photo. This is how we like the trial saddles so that we can help you decide which shape and position for your knee rolls. 18.01.2022 Interesting study on half pads proving that they vary in their ability to decrease saddle pressure. Gel pads may actually increase pressure in cranial saddle areas whereas foam and wool half pads may help decrease pressure caudally. As we always advise, you should discuss the use of saddle pads with your saddle fitter at the time of fitting to ensure the width of the saddle gullet and channel allows for the pad.

15.01.2022 Super video! Every rider owes it to their horse to watch this one. We love the analogy of the girth/saddle and chin strap/helmet! Makes so much sense. Please take the time to watch this.

08.01.2022 The Ryder Baroque has a wide, U-shaped gullet with short, flexible tree points designed for horses that are particularly wide around the wither. It has a deep seat that is incredibly comfortable and an amazing, moulded knee roll resulting in excellent rider balance. The panels are wide, flat and short and sit well on a range of horses, particularly the warmbloods and baroque breeds for which it was designed. We are so pleased to have more of these exquisite saddles arriving tomorrow!

They have 22 holes at 3/4 apart and available in 54, 60 and 62. Due to them being made of biothene you will not get the stretching that you will see on other stirrup leather.
