16.01.2022 Oh my word this is so tasty! Chickpea pumpkin curry! Here's how to go about it:... Heat together 4 tablespoons of your favourite curry paste (I used yellow) with 2 cans of coconut milk in a large pot. After having chopped up two slabs of pumpkin into pieces, Add to the pot and let simmer for about 40 minutes. The pumpkin will break down into the coconut. Add whatever herbs and spices you desire. Add in two cans of rinsed chickpeas a HUGE handful of spinach, 1 cup of Greek yoghurt and whatever other element you desire. I added crispy tofu for more protein. And there you have it! #lovefood #mealprep

09.01.2022 ~STRETCHING~ What stretches should I do? How long do I stretch for? How often should I stretch? These are just some of the questions I regularly get about stret...ching. The most common objection/theme for stretching that I see as a trainer, is that people often want you to 'give' them elaborate stretching regimes. They feel like the basics aren't going to do the job. But here's the kicker. To get the benefits of stretching, they must be done CONSISTENTLY. The most elaborate stretching plan isn't going to work if you don't do it every day. Does this sound familiar? Just like nutrition and working out... CONSISTENCY IS KEY. I don't consider myself an expert at stretching, but for the average person I'd say, if you can pick a few stretches and do them EVERY DAY, you will see the benefits. Which stretches should you do? The ones that target the places you feel tight. It's as simple as that. As a beginner, it's a good idea to target big muscle groups like hammies and glutes. The stretches I do every day are pretty basic, but I chose these literally because I feel tight in these places when I don't do them. I do them after every single workout which turns out to be 5-6 times per week. I hold them for 30 seconds each. Why? Because this is the time I feel it takes for my body to relax into it. My main targeted areas are lower and upper calves, hammies, glutes, lower back, hip flexors, quads, chest, neck and traps. Let us know some of your favourite stretches!
