22.01.2022 Quick tip to help you avoid the iffy sniff test when it comes to leftovers ... Make sure you label ALL of your leftovers and prepped food BEFORE you put them in the fridge or freezer! It doesn’t have to be a fancy label. A piece of masking tape and a magic marker will do the trick. Just write what’s inside the container and (most important of all) THE DATE.... I know we always THINK we will remember when we put that leftover stir-fry in the fridge, but too many times we don’t! There’s no point in doing meal prep ahead of time if you just end up throwing it out! Do you label everything before you put it in the fridge? 19.01.2022 SNACKS, SNACKS, SNACKS!! It's snack time! Yes, you CAN eat snacks and still reach your goals! MIND BLOWN, right? ... They just have to be snacks that are aligned with the results you’re looking for. And one of my favorite snacks is... well I have 3...apple with Almond butter and dark chocolate Apples and almond butter are a match made in heaven. The creamy nut butter pairs perfectly with crunchy apple slices (which also hit the sweet cravings) and the high protein and fiber content guarantees you'll be full and satisfied. Dark chocolate is also a great way to hit sugar cravings without eating whole block my favourite is mint Dark chocolate , for me it’s a match made in heaven, I only need 2 squares to fill satisfied and I’m not depriving myself Quest protein bar- these are perfect on the go snack- no prep needed. There are 11 flavours to choose from including fudge brownie, cookies and cream, caramel choc chunk, white choc raspberry.....::there is something for everyone! You guessed it, my favourite is the Choc mint They are packed full of protein with 20g protein and only 5g carbs per bar! The great thing about snacks is they can help hold you over until your next meal, without getting too hungry. It’ll help you avoid falling into the trap of eating junk or processed foods (or eating TOO much at your next meal). AND if you always find yourself feeling hungry at a certain time of the day, like mid afternoon or after dinner you can actually PLAN your snack ahead of time! I always have quest bar in my desk at work or handbag - failing to plan is planning to fail Although, these are my go-to snacks, I'm always after more so... Do you have a fave healthy snack?
