21.01.2022 Lets play a game. Reflect back on this past week and tell me what was one thing that made you burst out laughing? Like a totally crazy, thoroughly unhinged person? Go on, dont be shy (if its a video or meme, drop it in the comments) For me, it was my dog stealing the Sunday roast my dad had lovingly cooked us (no leftovers for us this week!)... I am still chuckling as I write this post, yes Im a bit kookoo but so are you and like Alice says all the best people are! See more

21.01.2022 Movement Challenge: Lets Get UPSIDE-DOWN! This weeks challenge if you choose to accept it will give you an entirely new perspective on things! Thats because its all about INVERSION (or being upside down!) ... Why do inversions? Here are few great reasons to add them to your routine: It can help build upper body strength & balance. It can help improve circulation to your brain and stop lymphatic fluid from pooling in your legs. Its also great to help get you out of your comfort zone! Some people say it also helps them with back pain, although its efficacy with long-term pain hasnt been proven yet in studies. And dont worry if being upside down seems a little scary... there are many ways to practice, depending on your needs and comfort level, so there are no excuses not to do it! Here Are a Few Great Variations to Try: Assisted Inversions: lie on your back on the floor, with your legs extending UP a wall or over the top of a chair/couch cushion. Yoga Inversions: begin with Downward Dog pose and work all the way up to full-on headstands! (Check out this link for progressions: yogajournal.com//turn-your-practice-upside-down-guide-to-i) Use an inversion table. Are you going to join us? If so, which method are you going to choose? Let us know in the comments! Bonus Points if you post a pic of you doing a handstand or other inversion move! :-) (Note: if you have health concerns like hypertension, vision problems, migraines or heart disease, its likely a good idea to check with your doctor before doing any serious inversion therapies.)

21.01.2022 Ideal portions vary but a great starting point is to fill half your plate with veggies, have approximately 1/2 cup starch and a palm size of protein. Are you close to this?

16.01.2022 HAPPY FEET CHALLENGE Your feet work SO HARD for you ALL DAY LONG. This week Im challenging you to show them some love by giving them a little massage! All you need is a tennis ball and a few minutes you can do this when youre winding down at night in front of the TV or sitting at your desk (no one has to know!).... Simply roll each foot (no shoes!) on the ball for a few minutes. Go as fast or as slow as you want, applying as much or as little pressure as feels good. As you go, youll notice some spots feel tighter than others. Spend a little extra time on each tender/tight spot and let the muscles relax a bit. The goal isnt to cause yourself any pain... You should feel like youre releasing some tension in your feet as you go! It should actually feel really good! Sometimes our feet can get so tight we dont even notice they could use a little TLC. Youll be amazed at the difference this can make in how doing this will actually release tightness up through your legs and hips and impact the rest of your body! Its also a great preventive exercise for plantar fasciitis. Your challenge is to get a ball and roll your feet every day for 3-5 minutes each this week! Are you in? I certainly am! Let me know in the comments below...

12.01.2022 What us in Functional Medicine have been saying for years, if you have an irritable gut keep looking for the cause. Theres something making your gut irritable, whether food, bacterial overgrowths or imbalances, parasites, worms etc. Its a journey of discovering your personal contributing factors, but well worth the effort for long-term symptom relief.

10.01.2022 My definition of healthy is simply being able to feel amazing every day. Its funny how everyone has a different definition of healthy, but one thing I have seen over and over again is that If you ask someone thats achieved their health goals for their definition, theyll give you the glamorous side of it but also the ugly side, the side paved with. fears tears... blood sweat twists turns flops bumps slumps slaps slams and a truck load of deep set anxiety But If you ask a failure, what healthy is, theyll just simply say LUCK. Funny no? What does healthy look like to you?

04.01.2022 Pick your sunscreens wisely. These chemicals get absorbed into your body. At the very least always choose sunscreens for sensitive skin, they are likely to have fewer chemicals.
