16.01.2022 VICARY’S LAST ONE OUT GRAND LIQUEUR TAWNY 30 YEAR OLD ONLY 2030 BOTTLED... Be a part of Sydney’s wine making history and order your limited edition, numbered bottle now. $65 + POSTAGE & HANDLING please email your name, delivery address, quantity and contact info to [email protected] We will contact you to arrange payment. The last bottling of wine at Vicary’s Winery was done on June 24th 2015 after a long history of ninety two years of winemaking since first opening its cellar door to the public in 1923. The wine is a Grand Liqueur Tawny fortified wine and was suitably named LAST ONE OUT. This wine was carefully blended by Chris Niccol current owner and winemaker since 1984 and is a culmination of many years of wine making, patience and care as the various wines matured. Some of these wines were over thirty years old and some of an unknown age while the majority were made between 1983 and 1989. This carefully crafted wine has rich concentrated flavours of raisin and oak vanilla characters with layers of complexity as a result of slow evaporation over the long period of aging in oak barrels. There were only 2,030 bottles produced and each one is numbered and being the last wine produced at Vicary’s Winery will become sort after by collectors. Each wine comes in a hansom box lined with satin material and unlike many rare fortified wines of its type it is in 750 ml bottles rather than the usual 375 ml bottles. At $65.00 it is extremely good value. After the winery closes this wine will be unavailable to the public and as we already have many back orders we advise early purchases to avoid missing out on this rare and final wine made at Vicary’s Winery. A brief history The first vines were planted by at Vicary’s Winery by Cess Vicary in 1916 and the cellar door opened to the public in 1923 making it Sydney’s oldest continuously operating winery. During this time the winery has provided a range of quality wines and wonderful memories for its customers. The quality of the wines have been recognised with over one hundred medals and six trophies for being the best in its class at various national wine shows throughout Australia. The winery is located near Luddenham NSW on top of rolling hills in a picturesque setting with views to the Blue Mountains and surrounding farm land. It has become one of Sydney’s icons along with its Famous Woolshed entertainment venue a link to our past heritage based around our most famous song Waltzing Matilda Unfortunately the winery will be forced to close to make way for Sydney’s second international airport but will continue to trade until sometime in November 2015. So this is your last opportunity to purchase a valued keepsake of the winery. You may also like to book into Vicary’s Famous Woolshed for dinner, dancing and a last waltz to the sounds of the fiddle and strings before it all ends. After this the winery and Woolshed will be bulldozed probably before Christmas 2015.

06.01.2022 Vicary’s Famous Woolshed was established at Vicary’s Winery in the late 1970’s and was one of the first venues of its type where people could sing and dance to Australia’s early colonial folk music. Woolshed entertainment venues had their beginning in the 1970s as a result in the resurgence of interest in Australian culture and heritage. With the Centenary of the landing at Gallipoli coming up on April 25th Vicary’s Famous Woolshed is holding a night two weeks prior on April...Continue reading

01.01.2022 THE LAST YEAR OF VICARY’S FAMOUS WOOLSHED Many of you will be aware that the Federal Government has given the go ahead for Sydney’s second international airport at Badgery’s Creek. Unfortunately this means that Vicary’s Winery and Famous woolshed will close in November 2015. Vicary’s Winery has operated for ninety two years since first opening its doors in 1923, while the Woolshed a much older building first started operating in its current form in the mid 1970’s over forty y...ears ago. As a background to the Woolshed’s beginnings, the 1970’s was a period when people began to recognise Australia’s great cultural heritage after a long period when the economy was said to ride on the sheep’s back, with our wool being our major export to many countries around the world. Waltzing Matilda was recognized as our national song and that is what the Woolshed is based on, with one side of the shed being the Squatters side and the other being the swaggies side. Vicary’s Woolshed was one of the first venues of its type where people could have traditional Aussie fun with great tucker and dancing to the music of Bush bands. Its closure will be a great loss to part of our cultural heritage. However there is still time to enjoy the last of our Woolshed venues. Winter is a great time to experience the fun and rustic atmosphere with big open fires and the sounds of the fiddle. This is the last chance to experience this type of fun as Vicary’s Famous Woolshed is the last of its type in Sydney. If you have been before you will know what will be lost and if you haven’t then it is time to book in now as our nights are fast filling up. Our last Woolshed will be run early November! We look forward to hearing from you!
