25.01.2022 The beautiful Rocky. He is going to be a rockstar! He’s doing some ongoing training with Vicdog to help him reach his potential! So far, he’s learning to control his environment by being creative. Shaping games are a fun way for a young puppy to learn without pressure!

17.01.2022 More shaping games for Rocky! This happy little dog loves to manipulate his environment.

14.01.2022 I don’t like to say I have favourites......but I love working with these two and their handlers ( and their family members). We have soooooo much fun, I thoroughly enjoy the sessions

14.01.2022 The beautiful faces of Sykes who started his obedience journey today

08.01.2022 Love this video. Many of our clients understand the power of using a marker (in this case a clicker) to shape certain behaviours. This is such a simple, yet powerful example of how we can create an operant dog. Thanks to Michael & Bart for this video, some pretty awesome mentors to have!! (The geniuses behind NePoPo)

08.01.2022 Michelle does weekly training with Assistance Dogs Claudia & Tyler. These guys graduated through Assistance Dogs Australia and its imperative that their training continues for life. We have lots of fun at these sessions!

07.01.2022 I love it when a client listens to advice. This is Rocky being fed in a clam shell pool. It will help him to feel more confident in the water. Prior to this, Rocky wouldn’t step foot in water! Great job!!!

06.01.2022 We would like to welcome Max to the Vicdog family, he is an 8 week old all black German Shepherd. We will be showing you his socialisation and training tips and tricks over the next few months. Any questions along the way we are happy to answer them! Day 1 - Max out and about socialising and learning how to stay nice and calm

05.01.2022 Keep your dogs cool today people

05.01.2022 Major learning impulse control. This dog has the most beautiful boof head going around!!

04.01.2022 It takes a team effort to raise a puppy. Today Michelle spent some time showing Max some more of the whole wide world. Owning a puppy is exhausting, but the effort you put in during the critical development period (6-16 wks) will significantly impact the dog you have as an adult. Why do we want Max calm around Horses? Well, if we teach him to be calm around horses (and any livestock/other animals etc) during the Critical Development Period, he will file that away in his bra...in and access it when/if he ever comes across one later in life. Then he will most likely be able to take it all in his stride. Kirstie plans on taking Max everywhere with her as an adult dog, in particularly to clients house to help rehabilitate/train other dogs. Max will be no good to the clients if he is reactive to livestock that may be around. This is Max’s second exposure to livestock. The first time he reacted slightly which is understandable for a small puppy. Through careful exposure, today Max just chilled out. This hard work now will make life easier in the end!

02.01.2022 The art of Luring!

01.01.2022 Michelle teaching Zephyr to relax at coffee shops as per his Mum’s request. Michelle likes this type of training the most

01.01.2022 Hard to believe this little pup is already 14 weeks old! We recently took him camping, great exposure to many different things: he swam for the first time, he saw a campfire, fishing, boats, went to the local dog friendly pub and entertained everyone at the bar and then got tired and needed a rest in the pram on the way home. This little pup is happy to be put in any situation and takes it all in his stride! He had a ball camping on what will be his first of many

01.01.2022 It’s been a very busy few weeks for Max as he settles into his new family and explores this big world. The main focus with Max has been his socialisation: with humans, dogs and all things in daily life. - Max has been attending puppy school with the guys at the K9 Company in Eltham - it’s vital your pups attend a puppy school that teaches your dog in a safe and controlled environment whilst giving them the socialisation they need! As you can see Max takes it all in his stride... and the guys at the K9 Company rock! - We have been visiting train stations, cafes, trucks, buses, Bunnings and starting to meet some live stock all whilst getting Max to focus and remain nice and calm! - We are slowly introducing some obedience along with placement work and looking at developing drive for the ball! - Crate training is coming along nicely, he is more than comfortable being in his crate and happily goes in there to sleep or escape.... - one of his biggest challenges is navigating life with a small human, not too sure who annoys who more but ensuring Max has a great out is one thing we are really focusing on for when he steals toys/shoes etc. See more
