25.01.2022 Supercars Sandown 1st race of the weekend

24.01.2022 A tribute to our wonderful volunteer officials and staff. On Friday morning as I drove to the Albert Park track, the news feed was that the Aus GP would be canc...elled. Fearful of having to tell the AGPC we could not provide support for the event, I wondered how many of our volunteer officials would decide not to come to work. I need not have worried!! I arrived at the early morning muster to find all 950 had shown up, kitted up and ready to do their bit. With the help of Mike Smith, Dr Brent May and our staff, we explained what lay ahead and reminded them about the steps to be taken re COVID19. We did not get one question or any push back. No complaints, no whinging. They broke up into their teams and went out to their positions - where they waited for another 2 hours before being told the race was cancelled. We returned to the muster and there they all were again - disappointed but united. I have experienced highs and lows in sport but this would have to be one of the highlights - the response from our wonderful, magnificent and world’s best volunteer officials was inspiring. From everyone at Motorsport Australia - THANK YOU!! I could not be prouder of the response from our loyal volunteers and our hard working staff. See more

23.01.2022 We are proud to play a role in Victoria's coronavirus response, with the Medical Centre from the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit being transferred to The Alfred.... Our thanks to loyal AGPC partners and suppliers APP, Harry the hirer, Coates Hire, Re-Event, Transplumb Water Technologies, Site Ready Services, Downer and others, who all played a key role in moving the building from Melbourne's F1 street circuit to the hospital, where it will be used in the fight against COVID-19. Our Event Management Office, which is based at Albert Park from January-March each year, is also available if required for emergency services to utilise. Meanwhile, our partners SPACECUBE are using recycled materials from the #AusGP to build pop-up respiratory clinics across Australia and New Zealand. See spacecube.com for more details.

22.01.2022 *IMPORTANT* Dear Competitors, It is with great disappointment that we are writing to you to advise of the cancellation of the 2nd round of the Victorian State C...ircuit Racing Championships, which was to be held at Winton later this month. There were several factors contributing to this decision including the new legislation limiting event attendees, the health & wellbeing of competitors and officials, and availability of medical resources. Ultimately these could not be guaranteed leaving us with no option. Medical advice received is that the situation is expected to get worse before it improves. The Health Department expect the virus to spread and more people to be diagnosed over the next three to four weeks. A number of options were pursued in order to proceed with the event, including restructuring the event itself, but unfortunately current circumstances mean that we cannot proceed. We are terribly disappointed as we have received 200 entries and we were looking forward to a great event. Refunds will be issued to competitors who have entered this event. We are hopeful that future rounds of the championships are able to proceed. The next round is scheduled for May 16-17 at Phillip Island. We will advise the status of the event via our website, social media and email. We would like to acknowledge the assistance given to us by Motorsport Australia, Winton Motor Raceway and Ambulance Victoria. Regards Victorian State Race Series Inc
