19.01.2022 Victoria, we’ve now seen 28 days of no cases, no community transmission and no lives lost. That’s 28 days of these: And you earned every single one of them.... But, now isn’t the time to be complacent. Now is not the time to let all the good habits we formed slip. Don’t let that stop you from being proud of yourself and your community remember how hard we fought for this and keep up the incredible work as we close out 2020. More from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer, Brett Sutton: With 600,000 new cases globally each day, the risk is always there. We must - and will - strengthen quarantine. We need strong, ongoing surveillance and really robust capability to rapidly respond to any new cases and to hit transmission hard. I know we will. Restrictions will ease again in December but we will need ongoing habits as insurance against this virus getting away...testing! For today, be proud of the role you played in this unique achievement. We did it together, against the odds, and with the grace, grit and determination that will bring Victoria a brighter 2021. Bring it on. And again to frontline staff and all in the community - thank you!

07.01.2022 Planning some well-deserved socialising? As restrictions ease, it is more important than ever we all take steps every day to keep ourselves and others safe. This includes being careful about how and when we see our loved ones. There are still directions in place for household visits. Remember: You must not travel outside your 25km radius or between metro Melbourne and regional Victoria to visit a household.... You can have up to two people (plus dependants) from the same household visit your home. The two people must be from the same household and must visit together. You can only have one visit a day this means once a day you can visit someone’s home or have someone visit you. It is strongly recommended you keep your mask on when visiting friends and family. By wearing a mask, you can help keep them and yourself safe. You need to keep 1.5 metres from people you don’t live with. This means not hugging, kissing or shaking hands with friends and family. This is hard, but important to protecting the people we love. Avoid sharing food or drinks. Please keep a record of who visits your house each day and who you visit. This will help contact tracers if you or someone you know has the virus. Professional respite care is allowed. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water and make sure to clean high-touch surfaces. Where possible, spend time with friends and family outside. Being outdoors reduces the risk of spreading the virus. Most importantly, if you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) get tested and stay home.
