24.01.2022 Good Afternoon All, following todays AGM held via zoom the following have been elected to form ur committee for 2020 / 21 President : Shane Harling Vice President : Philip Grant Secretary : Warren Maynard Treasurer : Dyson Appleyard... Committee : Doug Agnew Donald Whitehead John Trahair, Nathan Swincer, Greg Payne Mark Walker. The VGA would like to welcome new committee member Mark Walker to the team.

22.01.2022 Turf Seminar Yesterdays seminar was another informative day. Im sure those who attended walked away with some great knowledge gained from being there. Wade Turners talk on shaving of greens had everyones attention and Im sure answered many of our questions about this form of renovation. Warren Braybons talk on Black beetle control was excellent and as always entertaining. Im sure we all gained a better insight to how best to control them. His 2nd topic on Resistance... was excellent and how he explained it Im sure we all picked up some tips on how to best avoid this happening. Doug Agnew's talk on his top maker shaving machine created some very constructive questions and shows its another great tool in the shed. Congratulations to Warrick Henderson ( Yarrawonga /Mulwala Golf Resort ) on winning Greenkeeper of The year a very deserved winner. 22.01.2022 POSITION AVAILABLE The Newborough Bowling Club has an exciting position available for a professional and suitably qualified experienced Greenkeeper. The Newborough Bowling Club is renowned as one of the premier bowls venues in the Latrobe Valley and wider Gippsland area. The successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance of three bowling greens (2 Bent & 1 Tiftdwarf) as well as maintaining the immediate surrounds of the greens.... Potential applicants must possess the following skills and attributes: Minimum Certificate 3 Turf Management; Certificate 4 or above (highly desirable) Chemical Application License / Accreditation Fine cut turf maintenance experience Application of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) principles and reporting High level of communication skills; both verbally and written Punctual, physically fit, can multitask and implement impeccable time management skills. Ability to work pro-actively under pressure Available to work a spread of hours across 7 days of the week Preferred applicants will also meet the following criteria: Knowledge and experience with turf equipment Knowledge of turf protection and nutrition products Keen interest in lawn bowls This role will certainly appeal to applicants with a strong work ethic who enjoy a challenge and thrive in the outdoors environment. 02.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Barron. An absolute legend doesn’t even come close to describing Pete. He was without doubt one of the best Presidents we have had and someone who was always quick to make you feel welcome. A man with a great sense of humour, hard worker and top greenkeeper. His work for our association was huge and we still reap the benefits of work he did in his time on the VGA committee. We offer our sincere Condolenc...es to his family and close friends. You will be missed Pete. The VGA Committee.
