25.01.2022 It’s a hard life being a dog guide! Yas is happy to wait on the couch while Henry cooks banana bread. She’s waiting patiently for something to drop! I think she got a couple dropped bits but that banana bread was too good to share. Great job, Henry. Picture 1: A close up of Yas, a yellow lab, lying on a black couch with her head on the arm rest. 23.01.2022 It doesn’t take much to make us happy. We’ve just received the 6dot Braille Label Maker so it’s time to label EVERYTHING! 18.01.2022 !?WHO cut the CHEESE!? ~~We did~~ After searching and trialling a wide selection of cheese cutters, the jury is now out with the best result. We all found the wire cheese cutter to work the best for big blocks of solid cheese. As you can see in the picture, the wire cheese cutter can even cut through hard cheese wrapped in wax. If you’re having difficulty cutting the cheese, look into one! This one, integra maison marble cheese slicer, was purchased from Kitchen Warehouse for... $19.95. If you have some tips or equipment for cutting cheese, feel free to share it with us in the comments. 18.01.2022 !!Oven mitts!! Who would think they would be such an issue for people who are blind or have low vision?! Yet, they are... We’ve recently found a pair that are almost perfect! Weber Premium Gloves. They have fingers to easily grab everything, they come halfway up your forearm so you don't burn yourself and have a silicone non-slip grip on the palms. If you’ve found the perfect oven mitt, let us know in the comments. If not, give the Weber Premium Glove a try! A special shout ...out to The Weber Store in Northlakes, QLD! The manager, Mick, hooked us up with a pair in each size for our clients to try before they buy. Thanks Mick And Weber!! You rock. 18.01.2022 Jack loved making homemade potato soup a few weeks ago! He used a Tupperware microwave pressure cooker to make the soup and a Tupperware string pull chopper to blend it up nice and smooth. To his surprise, he loved it! 15.01.2022 When you’re given a BIG Orientation and Mobility challenge and you SMASH IT, you deserve a reward. 10.01.2022 Beth cooked it out of the park this week! She made crumbed fish, homemade chips and condensed milk ice cream. It was a fantastic session. Great job, Beth!! 07.01.2022 ...And the winner for Best Accessible Packaging goes to ... (Drum roll) Bradley Watches! We’ve just received our Eone Bradley Watch and found it has Braille on almost everything in the box; including the box! Now to test it out to see if they’re as good as they say. If you’re interested in checking one out before buying, just let us know.... Picture Description: A black box lies horizontal on a white counter top. There is a grey sticker with Braille located on the left side of the box that says: Designed for You Designed for Everyone Lying perpendicular on top of the box is a silver watch. The face of the watch has tactile markers and a ball that moves around on a track; indicating the minutes. The hour indicator is not seen as it goes around the outside of the watch. Parallel under the box is the pamphlet that came inside the box. Written in print and Braille, it says Telling time should not require sight. Now, it doesn’t have to.

01.01.2022 Who says scanning games can’t be fun!! Charlie enjoyed scanning the toy store for anything pink. His goal was to find a birthday present for his little sister. He did fantastic! We won’t lie...he found a few for himself as well ...you can see them in the attached pictures. Picture Description: ... Picture 1 - Charlie trying on the Batman mask.
