07.01.2022 KittyCats hit the water welcoming passengers from today Modern, comfortable and efficient journeys delivered by Cr Ryan Murphy , Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner , and these cute new vessels. In July when we were faced with an unexpected safety concern with our timber ferries, which are more than 30 years old, it was an incredibly tough decision to pull them off the water. I thank residents for their patience and understanding while we work through this. ... I told residents ferry services would return to Brisbane and that we would reinstate as many services as possible, and that is exactly what we’ve done. 07.01.2022 Want to upgrade your shopfront - our pilot Suburban Shopfront Improvement Grants have just opened. We're driving suburban economic vitality by helping businesses and property owners to upgrade their shopfronts, refreshing façades, improving street appeal and the character of the local area. This is a matched grant, meaning that for every dollar requested from Council, the Applicant must have an equal dollar amount (or more) to put toward the project. All the info at https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au//suburban-shopfront-improv

03.01.2022 Signing-off today on more support for Brisbane community organisations, not-for-profits and sporting clubs through the Lord Mayor’s COVID-19 Direct Assistance P...rogram. So far more than $2.6 million has been paid-out to more than 300 groups across Brisbane under the program. This financial assistance is helping not-for-profit organisations on Council land to cover the costs of operating expenses incurred during their forced closure. It’s also helping support groups who have been unable to do maintenance works on their buildings due to lack of revenue as a result of the pandemic. Eligible organisations can apply for funding of up to $10,000 under this program. For information on how your organisation can apply see: https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au//lord-mayors-covid-19-dire
