24.01.2022 Research tells me that it's best not to do flashbacks in the first few chapters because the reader hasn't fully grasped the characters, but in 'A Deathly Shade of Passion' I wrote Oliver's past and took the reader into flashback a couple of times in the first chapter. Nobody has complained so far. I'd love to hear what you thought about it, did it work or were you confused because you hadn't built rapport with him yet?

23.01.2022 New Years Eve is a great time to ask what 2021 has in store for you. 1) Are you happy with where you are right now? 2) Are you living the life of your dreams? 3) Have identified a change is needed? 4) Do you know what you would like your life to be like?... 6) Do you know how you are going to achieve this new change? Yes of course you can set goals but I'd rather you spent a few moments asking yourself, 'who do I need to be, and what do I need to do to make this happen?' 20.01.2022 Fear can either be your friend or your enemy. I have spent my fair share of time wallowing in Fear, scared to share what I have written to the world, BUT what good did that do me? NOTHING. I grew a thick skin and accepted that not everyone will like what I write and that's ok, we all live in a world of free will, free thought and free speech.

19.01.2022 Even though I had finished 'Trust the Universe' within the challenge time of 40 hours, I didn't know if what i had written was any good. I had so much self-doubt about myself and the future of the book. I'm glad that the feedback I received about Trust the Universe was wonderful. (The new updated version is even better). Anyway, it was that feedback that was all it took for me to take myself seriously.

14.01.2022 Writing A Deathly Shade of Passion was quite different from when I wrote Deadly Deception (the first book in the series). Taking the locals deeper in their character was awesome and I really enjoyed opening them up to more life experiences that I am sure most of you will relate to. It was the new characters that gave me the most satisfaction, to blend them into the local environment and then allowing them to reek havoc was at some times challenging but rewarding. 14.01.2022 When I teach my 'How to Write' classes, one of the first things we talk about is where to find the ideas about what to write. A really great technique is to grab a newspaper and write down the heading of an article and make your own news story. Or open a book to any page, write down the first line, open another page and grab another line from the middle of that page and see how you can write a story combining those lines. Creativity flows when you allow imagination to come through, and yes, anyone can do this. Give it a go and let me know what transpired.

When I was designing it into chapters representing your life journey I colour coded it so that I could have each chapter connected to your Chakra colours. 07.01.2022 Covid-19 has affected us all in ways we may never have experienced before so I encourage you to write how you are feeling. The therapeutic effect of this is tenfold not only will it help to relieve some of your emotions, but its a great time to write that emotion into one of your characters, while you are experiencing it use it.
