25.01.2022 We can flourish in unexpected places with God. you have been with me from birth; from my mothers womb you have cared for me. Psalm 71:6 #Godisgood #Godisfaithful #trustGod

24.01.2022 For Adelaide people see the comment from 1079 Life. For all of us, may the week bring kindness and joy, and a smile to your face

24.01.2022 I know it's true but...I'm not always happy to go through the process of change and growth. Trusting our good God knows what he is doing! Trusting the process because God is leading it. #Godisgood #trustGod

20.01.2022 As we head into the weekend, I need reminding of this

19.01.2022 Praying you find the presence of God in big and small ways today As took this photo this morning thanking God for the beautiful creation - the big of the landscape and the small of the flower, and remembered that he cares for the birds that were welcoming the day with noise, I was reminded that I am his creation, as are you. We are known and loved by the creator. May his presence fill you today. #Godisgood #godisfaithful

19.01.2022 Favour, comfort, beauty, joy, praise, righteousness, restore, renew, rebuild Yesterday whilst driving through where the devastating fires had been 10 months ago, the words from Isaiah 'beauty for ashes' kept coming into my head. God is a God of restoration. He renews and rebuilds. He can make something beautiful from what we think we have ruined. to proclaim the year of the Lords favor...... to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. Isaiah 61:1-4 #Godisgood See more

18.01.2022 Sometimes I need reminding how big my God is. #Godisgood #trustGod #Godisfaithful #Godisforyou

18.01.2022 Praise the Lord (despite our circumstances)

18.01.2022 Make a choice to rejoice! #GetHopeShareHope

17.01.2022 Hope. Health. Equip. For a flourishing life This is my overriding intention in all I do but in practice it has many facets. I have a passion to provide hope and healing in many areas of life that stem from my lived experience of divorce, single parenting and living with a chronic illness and my passion to equip ministry workers to promote abundant life and hope in others, practising self-care to last the distance. I have separate websites that focus on these specific areas of... ministry or passion. I announce the blogs and share resources for these on this page. I will also share my writing and speaking here, where my faith as Christ follower finds its expression, most obviously in my Sticky Note Thoughts which will appear on Mondays and Wednesday. I write and teach as someone standing in the trenches alongside you - encouraging you, helping you find your strengths and putting legs on ideas to make them work for you. My writing, blogs, websites, courses and teaching are a tool for you to use to equip you for your journey. I am honest about my imperfections, struggles and failings, and you see my victories, my hope and faith in God - even if you dont believe. My path wont be yours but there are steps on my journey that may help you on your path to a flourishing life. Blessings Vicky

16.01.2022 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4 #Godisgood #Godisfaithful

16.01.2022 Resting in the shadow of God. In reflecting on this verse over the weekend I realised that to be in the shadow of God I am behind him and he obscures my view. When I am sheltering in God's shadow then I can't see what he can see. It's an act of faith to trust him to lead me and protect me. Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord:... He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. Psalm 91:1-2 #Godisgood #trustGod #Godisfaithful #Godisforyou

16.01.2022 Notice the middle words in this prayer for God to be a refuge 'for you do what is right' - God's protection and rescuing is based on his goodness and faithfulness, not on what we do. O Lord, I have come to you for protection; dont let me be disgraced. Save me and rescue me,... for you do what is right. Turn your ear to listen to me, and set me free. Be my rock of safety where I can always hide. Psalm 71:1-3 #Godisgood #trustGod #Godismyrefuge See more

16.01.2022 The song I'm listening to on repeat is 'I choose to worship' from Rend Collective. Keeping my focus on God - he is my hope. #Godisgood #gratitudeandpraise

14.01.2022 Everyone needs some rest... some sabbath... Really!! Everyone!!

13.01.2022 Paul learned contentment. He had to practice it!

13.01.2022 Giving Thanks. The practice of gratitude "The Greek word for thanksgiving ("eucharistia") is connected with two other significant words for believers: grace ("charis") and joy ("chara"). Thankfulness isn't a "mood" but a choice to see and give thanks for the grace of God in the midst of our sorrows and losses and so to be renewed in joy." Sharon Garlough Brown Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. ... For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:4-5 #GodisGood #Godisfaithful

12.01.2022 I'm heading for some R and R today to one of my favourite places, and I'm planning to take lots of photos, some of which I will share on FaceBook over the next week - well at least that's the plan.

11.01.2022 A life lesson from bees. In watching bees whilst trying to photograph them at work in flowers, I've noticed they don't just fly delicately from flower to flower traipsing pollen. This bee flew head first into the flower then body rolled through the stamens, sometimes curled sideways, sometimes upside down. It's a full body immersion experience. It made me reflect on how sometimes I flit from activity to activity, rather than committing fully to what God has created me and ca...lled me to do. #Godisgood #trustGod See more

10.01.2022 Challenging words that frame my journey at the moment. #TrustGod #GodisGood #Godisfaithful

09.01.2022 I wouldnt have thought it was easy to confuse who God is and who He isnt, but I do. God is the supernatural being who created all things. He is beyond time and the giver of life itself. Then theres me, in my mid 50s doing my thing in Adelaide, Australia, dont always answer emails let alone the prayers of billions. Youd think it would be easy to tell us apart, but in my mind I try to be God. I try to control my life (and the lives of others). I make my plans and expect life to go according to them. I become frustrated and disappointed when it doesnt! I sit on the throne of my life. #thronebook #surrendertoGod #Godisgood #trustGodandwait

07.01.2022 May you rest in his presence this weekend

07.01.2022 A pink reminder spring is coming despite the current winter wind and rain, and weather warning, and the importance of the word 'So' In my theological training I was taught to look back in the Biblical text when I saw the word 'so' or 'therefore', to find out what they were there fore. Preceding today's 'So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!' are the words:... Praise the Lord, for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love. He kept me safe when my city was under attack. In panic I cried out, I am cut off from the Lord! But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help. Psalm 31:21-22 Why can be strong and courageous as we put our hope in God? Because he sees and he cares. He loves us and he acts (just not always to our timeframe and in the way we demand!) #Godisgood #trustGodandwait #Godisfaithful

04.01.2022 God cares. May the knowledge he hears your prayers give you the courage to face the complexities of a COVID-19 life. May his presence give you comfort and strength to face a new week. #Godisgood #trustGod #Godisfaithful

04.01.2022 Praying you know God more intimately this week. #Godisgood #Godisfaithful

04.01.2022 We hear and probably use the words 'tired' and 'exhausted' so much at the moment. The devastation, continual change, and losses from COVID-19 have wearied most of us, body and soul. Jesus says, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.. Come to Jesus the person. Dont come for religion or to do good, but to embrace the person of Jesus and find rest. Jesus is contrasting His rest with the burden the religious leaders of his... day had placed on the people, where it was about what they were required to do, to please God. Jesus rest is resting in what He has done for you. The rest he offers, is not cessation of activity, but peace and fulfilment and being put right with God. Being loved just as you are without having to earn it. Rest, that despite everything that is happening, God cares. Then Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light. Matthew 11:28-31

03.01.2022 Reminder to me - don't let go of my faith but do let go of the pen!

02.01.2022 Some encouraging words from Hebrews: Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praisethe fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:15-16 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.Hebrews 13:8... #Godisgood #trustGod #Godisfaithful

01.01.2022 God is patient with you. Ever have trouble keeping all the balls in the air? I feel like I am juggling lots of things and dropping a few. I sought these words this morning. There's some peace and comfort in that God loves and cares for me, and he is patient with me. I am not eliminated from his presence when I fail. He is with me. He is with you. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to p...erish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 #Godisgood #Godisfaithful #Godisforyou See more

01.01.2022 God’s word to Joshua are God’s words for us. How often do I need reminding of this! The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua was to cross the threshold of the Jordan River into Canaan leading a few million people. No biggie! He was man of character, trialled through his excursion into the Promised Land as a spy 40 years previous. He had been Moses’ assistant, trained in leadership. Yet God reminded him over and over again in the first 10 verses of Chapter 1... to ‘Be strong and courageous’ (Joshua 1: 6,7,9). For added emphasis in verse 7 He says, ‘be strong and very courageous.’ The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. #GodisGood #Godisfaithful

01.01.2022 A reminder God cares for you, repeated in two books of the Bible. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? Matthew 6:30 and Luke 2:28 #Godsmuchlovedchild #Godisgood #trustGod
