20.01.2022 We are putting Victorians mental health first. This has been the toughest year many of us have ever lived through. As we recover from this pandemic, we can’t lose sight of what matters most the health and wellbeing of our families, friends and communities.... That’s why this year’s Budget supports the recovery of our state and the fundamental rebuild of our system - delivering new beds, more staff and dedicated early support for young Victorians. While the Royal Commission finishes its important work, we are getting on with fixing this broken system, by investing in the much-needed foundation interim recommendations. Other key Budget investments include: $19.4 million to support mental health clinicians at the Victorian Fixed Threat Assessment Centre and deliver specialised services to meet the needs of people referred by the Centre $4.4 million to improve culturally appropriate support for Aboriginal Victorians $3.9 million for providing mental health and wellbeing support for asylum seekers. $152 million to support and provide mental health services in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic For more information, visit the following: http://www.health.vic.gov.au/mentalhealthservices/ https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/putting-mental-health-victor

18.01.2022 Thank you to all the Australian Labor Party Members and Labor Enabled members / supporters for joining our special Labor Enabled online NDIS Forum with Bill Sho...rten - Dec 2020. Thank you to Craig Crawford MP, the Queensland Labor Minister for Seniors and Disability Services and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, for joining us and chairing the zoom meeting, facilitating the Q&A, and for your insights to the current events of the management of the NDIS. Thank you to Bill Shorten for joining us and Bill candidly got us all up-to-date on all the current events and issues from the federal level too and warmly welcomed Labor Enabled members and their questions from around the country including from Labor Enabled QLD, NSW Labor Enabled, Labor Enabled SA, Labor Enabled Tasmania and, especially welcome & thanks too for our colleagues from Labor Enabled Victoria. Bill also told us about about the new Parliamentary Inquiry launched yesterday: People with disability and their families have voiced concerns about NDIS Independent Assessments proposed Morrison Government reforms that threaten to erode the scheme. After months of public opposition to these changes, a Parliamentary Inquiry has been launched. Make your views heard here: https://bit.ly/3nnRbzB Thank you to all those that joined our national level zoom and apologies again for the technical issues and connection problems that some people had... we are all learning in this crazy year of 2020 how to do things differently and better. The recording of last night’s zoom should be available soon, for replay and for those who missed out. Thank you

09.01.2022 Today and every day, we celebrate and honour the incredible contributions made to our lives and our society, by people with a disability. Happy IDPWD2020 to all.

08.01.2022 It's important to be aware of the narratives we are projecting onto our children. Some narratives teach children discomfort, avoidance and fear toward people who have a disability. That we are Other. The narrative LEV present is a narrative of inclusion, comfort and engaging people with disability into the narrative.... https://www.abc.net.au//helping-your-kids-to-not/11739256

02.01.2022 I went to university, I got a job and with my cerebral palsy have been a successful and independent human being. I am proud of who I am. Comedian Rosie Jones says the Disability Discrimination Act has made her life better, but she still faces abuse on a daily basis.

02.01.2022 How good is this! I wonder if we could see a roll out into our playgrounds to further encourage inclusion!
