18.01.2022 Hi! AFL Victoria and Korin Gamadji Institute are looking for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander females born 2000-2002 to apply for our new Female football p...athways program! We are seeking applications not just from females who play football, but from those may not currently play football or are less active within sport and exercise areas. Applications close on 14January 2018 with Participants to be notified of results of nomination by January 16. Should participants be successful with the application the requirement would be to be available to potentially attend 3 dates. 12.01.2022 September 2017- IMPORTANT UPDATE Dear Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, The Victorian NAIDOC Committee would like to take this oppor...tunity to provide an update on the Committee and progress for 2017 /18. For the past 4 years, Vic Naidoc has gone from strength to strength, the community is coming together more than ever with record crowds for all Vic NAIDOC events. We have partnered with VACCHO as our auspice body and in August this year locked in a further 3-year auspice agreement. Our committee is made up of the following; Honorary Elder Aunty Pam Pederson, 2014-2017 re-elected a further 3-year term to 2020 Chairperson Lidia Thorpe, 2014-2017 re-elected a further 3-year term to 2020 Members Mark Nannup, 2015-2018 Troy Benjamin, 2017-2020 Merindah Dryden, 2017-2020 Stacey Piper, 2018-2021 Elder Aunty Alice Kolasa, 2018-2021 Janeene Payne, 2018-2021 VACCHO rep, Ongoing as auspice To be a part of the Victorian NAIDOC committee an application process is sent out via our newsletter each year, our next vacancies will occur next year, please look out for it and encourage community to apply. We continue to work with community to ensure your ideas and values are part of NAIDOC, we are committed to working with regions to ensure people in the country are part of Vic NAIDOC. The volunteer hours leading up to NAIDOC each year is enormous and we thank each member for their time and commitment to deliver significant community events bringing our people together for culture, connection and celebration. During 2017 the NAIDOC committee delivered 6 key events as well as a community NAIDOC events listing. Planning for 2018 has progressed significantly with key dates identified, venues in negotiation and partnerships agreements underway, stay tuned for more updates and visit our NAIDOC facebook page or website.
