If youve done a come-and-try session or two, have had a chance to chat to us and hear Bronwyn explain whats involved regarding Saturday competitions and volunteering, and are keen to register your child/children for the season, then wed love to have you! Please read on.... Registering for the upcoming athletics season can be done online at the link below. Click on Registrations, enter a local postcode and select Belmont LAC. Click the green Register button. If youre new to Little Athletics, youll need to create a username and password. Then follow the prompts, entering info as requested. Make sure you select our club - Victoria Park!

19.01.2022 Moving day! After eight seasons of training at East Vic Park Primary, today we moved our equipment to our new training home at Millen primary. Two utes, two station wagons and a hatchback and it was all done in just over an hour.... Were now all set and ready for training to start!

17.01.2022 Get ready for the athletics season. The sun is out, the sky is blue, the kids have finished their winter sports and everyone is looking for some summer fun, family and fitness! Training starts Tuesday 17 September at 4.30pm at East Vic Park Primary and competition starts Saturday 12 October at Gerry Archer athletics track in Belmont. Runs, jumps, throws, hurdles and even walks available for athletes of all abilities 6-17 years old.

15.01.2022 Who's hungry? During October, VPLAC is taking part in the Grill'd East Vic Park Local Matters fundraiser. There's a jar in the store with our name on it. When you make a purchase, the team there give you a token and you can use it to vote for one of the three community groups. The group with the most votes at the end of the month gets $300 towards their fundraising project. So eat more burgers! Vote for VPLAC!

13.01.2022 What a lovely day we had yesterday. It made me very happy to see our athletes back in their orange shirts competing. Well done, especially, to our new athletes who smiled their way through their first day and tackled each event with enthusiasm. See you all at training on Monday. It is not too late to register, so come along to Millen at 4.30 on Monday to have a go at athletics.

08.01.2022 The athletics season is set to start and we are very excited to bring you a whole heap of news. We have moved! Training will now be at Millen Primary, Etwell St, East Vic Park. Training days are now MONDAY and THURSDAY, 4.30pm-6pm.... Registrations open Saturday 5 September. Training starts on Monday 14 September with the amazing coach Sharise joining us again this season. Competition at Belmont Little Athletics centre starts on Saturday 10 October. As always, athletes can come for a couple of trial training sessions before committing. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

06.01.2022 Dear Vic Park families, As you know we should have been enjoying our windup and presentations right now, but the current crisis situation has meant that the get-together had to be postponed. However, I wanted to share my thanks to our volunteers and congratulations to our athletes with our wider athletics community, friends and family. Thanks to all of you for being part of our club this year and for your involvement in making our Saturday competitions possible.... Thank you to our committee members: Club Manager Bronwyn Ife, Registrar/Secretary Tanya Llorens, Treasurer James Monk, and Records and Ranking Officer Sal Coote, all of whom have taken on these roles for several seasons. A huge thank you to coach Sharise Coote, a former VPLAC athlete, who has worked so hard with our athletes this season. Thanks also to Kyle Coote who was able to help out with coaching early in the season. Congratulations to our athletes on your efforts this year working to improve your performances each week. We are proud of your sportsmanship and happy to see the friendships youve made with athletes from other clubs. We also had several medal winners at Centre Championships. All of our athletes receive a certificate which shows their Personal Best performances in each event over the season. We now have several special awards to announce! Our Achiever Award trophy is for the athlete who achieved the highest number of Personal Best performances during the season. The Achiever Award goes to U10 boy, Aethan! Our Outstanding Athlete Award trophy is for the athlete whose performances in events earned the most BLAC points, based on how close they were to the record. The Outstanding Athlete Award goes to U14 boy Mazen! The final trophy is for the Coachs Award, chosen by coach Sharise. The Coachs Award goes to U15 girl Niamh! Sharise chose Niamh because she :"has displayed outstanding dedication to the club. She always shows a positive attitude and puts in her best efforts. Niamh also displays outstanding leadership skills leading warm ups, helping the younger kids in training and stepping into coaching when needed. Congratulations to all our award winners. I was excited to be back and see many familiar ...faces and a bunch of new members to join our athletics family. Thankyou to everyone who completed a roster today whether you were a Key Official, Site helper, completed setup or pack away, helped in the canteen or first aid. All volunteers are much appreciated.
