I'll be represen...ting the party I helped found back in 2014 as the first local candidate for the Australian Progressives. I'm extremely proud and excited to put values at the forefront of local politics #ethics #empathy #equality #evidence #engagement #empowerment #progressives www.progressives.org.au https://thewestsider.com.au/vote-for-me-i-hate-politicians/ See more

20.01.2022 Hey all, to assist the party could you all do us a small favour. With results of the Council elections being processed now, if you managed to find a candidate/s to vote for that you were impressed by and would make a great Progressive please forward their contact details (and tell us why you think they're great) to Peter Wingate at: [email protected] to reach out to them.
18.01.2022 Today is the cut-off to enrol or update your details to be able to vote in October's Council elections.* You have until 4 pm today (Friday 28th) go to http://vec.vic.gov.au/enrolment Remember, ratepayers including non-Australian citizens can apply to enrol. * especially if you live in Maribyrnong where the first Progressive ever; Peter Wingate is running for local office
15.01.2022 I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the only state that had an opposition party loudly declaring the lockdown unnecessary, and calling the Premier a "Dictator..." for trying to enforce it, is the one state currently having a second wave of infections. It is perfectly reasonable to hold a Government to account on its failings and mistakes, but undermining public health advice during a pandemic is not just irresponsible, it's deadly.
14.01.2022 To anyone who tried and failed to sign the petition for a RoyalCommission into News Corp, Mr Rudd advises that the website has increased its bandwidth to deal w...ith the sudden influx of signatures: https://www.aph.gov.au/petition_list?id=EN1938 Probably also a good time to point out that Rupert Murdoch's own son just walked away from News Corp because it "legitimises disinformation and obscures facts". Reflect on that for a moment... Rupert's own son... https://www.businessinsider.com/fox-news-james-murdoch-says
09.01.2022 Hello peeps from #theprogressivestate. Did you know that: - we all have an election coming up? - founder-member and long-term Progressives Executive Peter Wingate is running for Maribrynong as our first local council candidate? Make sure you tell your Inner West Melbourne friends ie. from Yarraville, Seddon, Kingsville, Footscray that they have the chance to vote for a real progressive in next month's postal vote.
09.01.2022 Victorians are just like Jason #empathy #evidence
05.01.2022 Yarraville and the Inner West have totally unacceptable levels of airborne pollution, not to mention the enduring risk of petrochemical catastrophe that has already ocurred at Coode Island, and the huge 2018 factory fire in West Footscray. If I'm successful in next month's elections I will jump up and down (perhaps literally) to make sure that Council and the State Government know that people in the Inner West deserve to sleep safe at night. Authorised by Peter Wingate, 28 Beverley St Yarraville. 'During 2019, the Victorian standards for particulate matter (PM) were regularly exceeded at the majority of monitoring stations in Melborne's inner west. The average annual particulate matter with 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5) concentrations exceeded the government’s standards at five of the seven inner-western monitoring stations.'
03.01.2022 As Stage Four comes into effect in Melbourne and Stage 3 around the state, remember to only rely on the #evidence when to comes to this pandemic. Don't give misinformation and fear any oxygen! https://www.facebook.com/james.wilkinson.921677/videos/10157799878302945/
01.01.2022 Just the distraction we Victorians need
