25.01.2022 Unfortunately the news we didn't want to hear - but to be expected. Emails have been sent, or you can read about the event cancellations here: https://mailchi.mp/c8676ecd1cfa/event-cancellations

24.01.2022 Cancellation of VRRC Round 3 at Phillip Island Dear Competitors, Based on the information received about further lock downs and state border closures, the Preston Motorcycle Club has to make the difficult decision to cancel the VRRC 2020 State Title round at Phillip Island scheduled for the end of August. This is a very difficult decision to make, but considering the limits and restrictions imposed so close to the event, we feel it is in the best interests of our volunte...ers, entrants and supporters that we cancel our 2020 event. This is bitterly disappointing, as we had already received record entries even 6 weeks out from the event. As an example in 2019 we received 38 Superbike entries, as of this morning we have 52 - everyone is keen to race and ride, but unfortunately a State Title Event cannot proceed with the current situation. This event is not viable with any restriction on entrants, especially for interstate competitors. To give you an idea, of the 190 entries received to date 65 of those come from interstate (35% of the total). With borders effectively closed for the unforeseeable and immediate future - we are left with no other choice. We are completely shattered about having to cancel this event, our biggest of the year, but based on these latest lockdowns and state borders being shut, we were left with a difficult decision to cancel the event. We are of course hopeful of being able to run Round 4 of the VRRC at Broadford on November 7th & 8th and look forward to seeing you all again soon. We will be processing refunds in the coming days, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to email Lisa at [email protected] Wishing you well and again appreciate your support and understanding.

19.01.2022 Looking back to February from our first ever round at The Bend Motorsport Park! The committee has already started planning for 2021...maybe another round at The Bend could be on the cards!

18.01.2022 Some of you have figured this out already, but here it is...ENTRIES are OPEN for Round 3 at Phillip Island. We will be guided by the Victorian Government directions at the time, along with Motorcycling Victoria, but for now we are taking entries for our biggest round of the year. Entry link is in the event page, or just click below:... Enter Here: https://tinyurl.com/VRRC-2020-Rd3 VRRC Supp Regs: https://tinyurl.com/VRRC-Supp-Regs-V2 We are also working with Motorcycling Victoria to find a make-up round towards the end of the year for losing our Round 2 to Covid-19. Stay tuned, and get your entries in.

17.01.2022 Phillip Island - Entries Update We have a great response to entries so far, however we do have some classes needing a lot more entrants to make them viable on their own right. We have received 49 Superbike entries, which means we are working on a solution in the schedule to run multiple Superbike races...the maximum starting grid is 42. This is a great problem to have, and we take the view on not limiting entries, especially for classes that are oversubscribed.... That said, we have some classes with only 2 entries. Which means the committee are considering a revised schedule and possible cutting of a class or classes. We will be making a call on this in July and early as possible to ensure enough warning of a class being removed from the round. Classes needing more entries before we make decision on a revised schedule are: Juniors BEARS F1 & F2 BEARS F3 F4 F5 Supersport 300 Supersport 600 250 Road Bike Thunderbike Twinsprint Premodern 600 This will be our biggest event ever held at Phillip Island, if you want to be a part of it, don't sit back and wait on your entry. 13.01.2022 ATTENTION: CHANGE OF DATE ANNOUNCEMENT. VRRC ROUND 3, at Broadford RESCHEDULED to July 31st & August 1st. (Previously scheduled to be held on Oct 16th & Oct 17th).... Due to factors out of our control we have been forced to reschedule Victorian Road Racing Championships - Round THREE at Broadford state motorcycle complex to July 31st and August 1st. Unfortunately Covid 19 is still impacting global motorsport, which is filtering down to us at a state level causing us to shift our event date. We understand this is frustrating for those who have made plans around our calendar, but our hand was forced on this one and we appreciate your patience. Champion's Ride Days will be running Friday Race practice on July 30th. Thanks for your understanding, Covid 19 is still throwing us some curve balls.

11.01.2022 Looking back to 2019's epic round at Phillip Island

11.01.2022 The committee has been working hard to finalise our 2021 season. Dates have now been confirmed, with a new addition and some changes for next years VRRC. Sign-up to our email list to be kept up to date...

09.01.2022 ATTENTION: CHANGE OF DATE ANNOUNCEMENT. Ok let's try this again. Our previous statement;... VRRC ROUND 3, at Broadford rescheduled to July 31st & August 1st Is WITHDRAWN This new date conflicts with the National Bears round held the same weekend. VRRC and National Bears have a common interest of supporting each series and with the fact that VRRC ROUND 3 was originally planned as a National Bears round we couldn't go ahead with this change. After consultation with with members of the racing community, National Bears and MV we have decided to cancel the new proposed date for VRRC ROUND 3 Broadford. The problems facing the original October date as mentioned in the previous date change announcement still stand. As many are aware a change in the ASBK calendar on the back of border closures and a change in international calendars has forced our hand to try and find a suitable alternative date and venue for the round originally scheduled for October, then moved to July. Currently we are working with MV to try and find an alternative date later in the year. We are sorry for any frustration or inconvenience caused, we too are feeling this frustration at having very little control over this situation. Thank you, Preston MCC and VRRC
