07.01.2022 Day 1 done and dusted What a great feeling to see our much loved Saloon Cars back on track, Holden/Ford at its best. A big thank you to all of you for supporting our Saloon cars through this challenging year.... We hope to be bigger and better in 2021 and this can't happen without your support. Trav Lindorff set the pace in qualifying with Adam Lowndes on his heels, Kerran Pridmore the first of the Au falcon in 3rd place, a very good effort and a congratulations to Kerran on his first run at the island in a saloon car. Race 1 was a somewhat unusual start with a time delay between the 944 Porsche's and the start of the saloon car race 1. Once up and running Trav took the lead and it was on all the way down the grid, Simon Tabinor had his first drive in a saloon car in 5 years, in fact he was fortunate enough to purchase his original National Saloon car from back in the day, and wasn't he on the move..Kerran and Simon put on a show, with Simon eventually getting in front of Kerran to take 2nd followed by Kerran in 3rd. There was action down the field with Jeff Thomas racing to beat his personal best and to see the smile when he achieved that was priceless. We also had two new drivers, Ash Lee, who unfortunately had to forfeit the event, but new comer Wayde Griffiths was going hard out there in his Ea falcon and having a ball. Sunday brings what looks to be a wet start to the day.. 5 laps, start time 9.35am Final 10 laps, start time 2.05pm I wish all the drivers the best for a safe and fun day of racing for our final day of racing.
