19.01.2022 We had 34 request for assistance yesterday from 4pm most were for trees down and a large number for building damage our crews worked until late and are back on the job this morning. Big thanks to the local CFA crews from Kyabram and Tongala for their aasistance also Ses crews from Marong and Rushworth units. Hopefully we dont get anymore of this weather. 19.01.2022 Welcome to the SES Kyabram Unit official Facebook page. The Kyabram SES is located at 4 Kuhle Road, Kyabram, within the Shire of Campaspe. The unit was first registered as Deakin in 1978 with the LHQ situated in Tongala, the unit was later renamed Tongala unit in 1993. In 2002 the unit relocated to Kyabram and was renamed again to Kyabram unit. Currently the Kyabram SES is supported by 17 Active, 1 junior, and 1 Associate members and responds to many activities involving, sea...rch and rescue, storm, .They also participate in assisting other emergency services with lighting, traffic management and incident management activities. Training is conducted weekly on Monday evenings at the unit The response area that the unit covers is approximately 745.34 square kilometres, with neighbouring boundaries Echuca, Numurkah, Tatura, Murchison, Rushworth and Rochester.

17.01.2022 A Code Red Fire Danger Day has been declared for the Mallee and Northern Country Fire Districts of Victoria tomorrow (Thu 21 Nov, 2019). A Statewide Total Fire ...Ban has also been declared. Anyone in a high fire risk environment in the Mallee or Northern Country should move to a lower fire risk environment tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. Houses in high fire risk environments are not designed to survive fires under Code Red conditions.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning. *********************************************************** IDV21037 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Weather Warning for HEAVY RAINFALL For people in Central, East Gippsland, Mallee, South West, Northern Country, North Central, North East, West and South Gippsland and Wimmera Forecast Districts. Issued at 3:44 pm Thursday, 13 December 2018. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms tonight, mainly in north. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms on Friday, mainly near the coast. Weather Situation: An almost stationary low pressure trough is over central Victoria. The trough is likely to deepen into a low pressure system over northwestern parts of the State this evening. Rain areas and thunderstorms are expected across the warning area during today and Friday, with periods of heavy rainfall likely that may lead to flash flooding. Rainfall totals of 5 to 30mm are expected with locally higher totals of 30 to 50mm. Localised falls of 50 to 100mm are possible over the northwest tonight and near the coast during Friday. For tonight the most likely area for heavy rain is on and north of the ranges. This area should contract to the far northwest early Friday morning and then clear. Meanwhile another area of heavy rain will develop on and south of the ranges during Friday morning, particularly near the coast. Locations which may be affected include Mildura, Horsham, Warrnambool, Bendigo, Shepparton, Seymour, Maryborough, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Traralgon and Bairnsdale. Highest rainfall totals for today include Bloomfield Park (Everton) 165mm Carboor Upper 125mm Eldorado 110mm Mount Buffalo 84mm All of the above are located in the North East district Highest total elsewhere was Woomelang (South Mallee) 72.6mm. Highest total in the Melbourne area was Sandringham 47.8mm The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Dont walk, ride or drive through flood water; * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains; * Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks; * Be alert that in areas recently affected by fires, heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads; The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEDT Thursday. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureaus website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 217.
