25.01.2022 Hello Gippsland Communities Due to the nature of COVID-19, in recent times we’d taken a break from face-to-face skills maintenance and training to focus only on... responding to emergencies. From this week, you might see us back out training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond. Activities you will see our members in the community undertaking training include: Crew Member Training Storm and Water Damage Flood Focused Skills Rescue Boat Operations Road Crash Rescue Technical Rescue Land Based Swift Water Rescue & Rope Rescue Fitness Tests including Pack Hike & Swim Tests Emergency services are permitted to undertake this training, as endorsed by the Victorian Chief Health Officer. Our crews are following all the COVIDSafe principles, wearing masks and working hard to ensure we are there for our community. Thank you VICSES Gippsland

09.01.2022 Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS - For people in Central, South West, West and South Gippsland and parts of East Gippsland, North Central, North East and Wimmera Forecast Districts. SQUALLY CONDITIONS FOR SOUTHERN AND MOUNTAIN VICTORIA TUESDAY DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 to 100 km/h are likely to develop about elevated areas (above 500m) overnight Monday night into Tuesday morning. DAMAGING WINDS are also possible about remain...ing areas of the warning area, developing about the southwest at first early Tuesday morning and extending to central parts later in the morning. These winds will most likely be associated with showers and/or thunderstorms. Winds will gradually ease from the west later on Tuesday, clearing the east of the state during Wednesday morning. Locations which may be affected include Warrnambool, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Traralgon and Moe. You can also use it to set one or more ‘watch zones’ around your home, your workplace, or those of your loved ones to ensure you’re always notified when an emergency is happening near you. 03.01.2022 Did you Know The VICSES Warragul Unit has a response area covering some 1716 km2. The Warragul Unit also has a satellite facility located at Drouin, approximately 10 minutes’ drive from the Local Head Quarters (LHQ). ... The Warragul Unit provides emergency assistance to the townships of; Warragul, Drouin, Trafalgar, Ellinbank, Ripplebrook, Jindivick, Thorpdale, Longwarry, Neerim, Loch Valley, Yarragon and surrounds. The Warragul Unit has provided 594 Request for Assistance to the community between 1 Jan & 27 Oct 2020 that is 2 requests for assistance per day. The VICSES Warragul Unit trains on Wednesdays, 7:30pm from the local headquarters at 160 Queen Street, Warragul VIC 3820.
