21.01.2022 A handful of hardy souls braved the elements on Wednesday 12 August to remove all the lachenalia we could find at the same location on the Esplanade as our previous working bee. One patch was left as an experiment to see if Slasher is effective.

20.01.2022 Back into the tamarisks in the Esplanade dunes. Might take a while. Barb reckons we would be on a winner if we could bottle whatever superpower it is that our tamarisks possess. Lovely warm day for a working bee and afterwards we had a bonus demo of Google Lens from Harry while we enjoyed our ‘masala chais’.

18.01.2022 Jen having a frilling time.

18.01.2022 A fine working bee on the Bluff to control suckering sheoaks. These are much larger than those we tackled west of the Bluff Road last year. Again, Lee Jeffery had tagged the 'good' weeping sheoaks so we knew which were the 'bad' ones. A good time was had by all - except the suckering sheoaks. There is plenty of work left for future working bees but the next one will be back to the tamarisks in the Esplanade dunes on Wednesday 14 October at 9 am.

13.01.2022 The working bee planned for Sunday 22 November has been cancelled. Tentative working bees have been scheduled for 3 Wednesdays, Dec 9, Jan 13 and Feb 10. Location is the Esplanade starting at 9 am for more work on tamarisk control. Any change will be advised by email and Facebook. The next evening meeting is not until Wednesday February 17. Stay safe everyone.

11.01.2022 Discovered at the meeting last night that member Kevin is a participant in the AdoptAspot scheme. Onya Kevin! He would love it if someone adopted the stretch from Kent Reserve to Yilki.

07.01.2022 Eight of us got all rugged up on Sunday (23 Aug) expecting cold and wet conditions as we pruned the paths between Hayward Court steps and the lagoon. We were pleasantly surprised. Conditions were delightful and we got a number of thanks from path-users on their way to a spot of whale watching.

07.01.2022 Bob with a tool he would happily swap for a 'real farmer's tool' (e.g. a front-end loader). A suckering sheoak on the Bluff that appears to have been visited by Trevor. Working bee Sunday 25 October.

03.01.2022 Exciting new event coming up soon, save the date! Bringing Back Butterflies, come along and learn more about how you can help in your own garden.
