25.01.2022 PSA: If youve received a letter like this, make sure you check where the prepaid envelope is actually going! If its from the LNP or Labor, its probably going back to them so they can use your data to campaign. Labor and the LNP are sending out these letters encouraging residents to apply for postal voting - but the prepaid envelope included is actually addressed to a PO box owned by the parties, not the ECQ. This is common practice for both major parties every election,... to gather voter data for campaigning purposes. Theres no problem with encouraging or reminding people to apply for a postal vote, but I think you should be honest about where the applications going. The Greens always encourage voters to apply directly to the ECQ, and we never collect data from postal vote applications. Postal voting applications are open. Heres how to apply for a postal vote via the ECQ: Online at ecq.qld.gov.au By phone on 1300 881 665

25.01.2022 Theres a reason that theres no difference between Labor and the Liberals when it comes to Gas policy. Follow the money. Gas is fossil fuel and a major cause o...f the climate crisis. The smart option, for both the science and economy, is to back cleaner, cheaper, renewable technology. greens.org.au/gas-is-not-the-answer

24.01.2022 The Queensland Labor government needs to stop trying to squeeze every last dollar out of ordinary Queenslanders who are already struggling financially. And instead, make their billionaire coal donors pay their fair share to fund public services greens.org.au/qld/fairshare

23.01.2022 The fossil fuel industry and their government and media lackeys are putting planet destroying aliens out of work! https://www.facebook.com/thefeedsbs/videos/315830186375436/

22.01.2022 In case youre wondering, when Morrison talks about Gas as the "pillar of the job making plan", ...hes talking about all the Gas Company boardroom jobs waiting... for the Liberal Party Ministers once they leave Parliament. As far as industries go, Gas is one of the worst job makers we have. We all know why this is happening... we predicted it in May. https://www.abc.net.au//coronavirus-recovery-to-p/12239978

22.01.2022 I enjoyed a wonderful morning at our Greens stall at the Mount Gravatt Markets. I was there with several of our excellent Greens candidates for the Southside plus we were joined by Queensland Senator Larissa Waters. It was great to meet so many new supporters and sign up more volunteers to our state campaign. Patsy OBrien - Greens for Miller ... 21.01.2022 The latest report from the Bureau of Meteorology and the CSIRO is worth reading and sharing. If you are interested in what is causing climate change you can read all about it here https://climate.nasa.gov/causes/ "Over the last century the burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil has increased the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2)"... A "gas led" recovery and more coal mines for Queensland doesn't sound like a good idea

21.01.2022 The Greens have a huge chance to win up to 7 seats in the Queensland parliament. Greenslopes is one of those seats! The Greens vote on the inner southside has been steadily climbing. There was a huge swing to the Greens in the Federal seat of Griffith last year and earlier this year we out-polled Labor in the local council election for the Coorparoo Ward. If we can maintain this momentum we can win Greenslopes on preferences. We can transform politics in our state forever. Bu...t to win, its going to take all of us together. Join us for a free, online session on how together we can win Greenslopes at 7pm this Wednesday. RSVP here for the Zoom linkhttps://www.victorforgreenslopes.com/winning_greenslopes_23

19.01.2022 Exciting news today from the Maiwar Campaign! Polling shows a huge swing to the Greens and puts Michael Berkman - Greens MP for Maiwar in the lead 6 weeks out from the October election! This tells us that grassroot campaigning is really paying off and Greens politics are popular and resonating with a huge range of people.... Not only have we seen this huge swing in Maiwar, were also on track to win both McConnel and South Brisbane. But a lot can happen in 6 weeks, and the Greens are not taking anything for granted. We know the major parties have massive election war chests filled with donations from big corporations. They tend to concentrate their biggest attacks and advertising in this final period, so well need to give it everything weve got to win. If you want to help us keep the momentum up, and show the major parties that ordinary people standing together is far more powerful than their big money and divisive campaigns, join us as a volunteer for the final stretch! www.winqld.com

18.01.2022 We dont take donations from corporations, so well fight for you!

17.01.2022 Both LNP and Labor sell access to their MPs to big business for thousands of dollars. This money goes towards their election campaign funds. Hmmmm ... it makes you wonder if government ever makes decisions in favour of corporations and to the detriment of our communities?

16.01.2022 One of the most common misconceptions about the Greens is that we cant afford our fantastic policies. The thing is - we can! By making big banks and mining corporations pay their fair share, we can make a Queensland thats better for everyone How great does that sound? Find out more at https://greens.org.au/qld/funding

14.01.2022 Heres how to apply for a postal vote directly (and avoid the LNP/Labor data harvesting schemes). Relevant details and link https://www.ecq.qld.gov.au//el/2020-state-general-election

14.01.2022 This is pretty appalling - the eviction moratorium for homes will end on September 29. Unemployment in Queensland is at 7.5%, and underemployment at 9% - and yo...uth unemployment is at around 15%, the highest in the country. The Treasurer Cameron Dick admitted yesterday that things may very well get worse before they get better. JobSeeker is about to be cut by $300, which is going to be a huge blow to the economy. So why would we even consider ending the eviction moratorium now, potentially forcing people into homelessness? With a massive shortage of public housing, where will people go? Its notable that the commercial moratorium will be extended until December 31, so its not like its not possible - its just a lack of political will to look after people when they most need it. We need an urgent extension to the residential eviction moratorium. We also need the Government to commit to investment in public housing, to clear the social housing waiting list, and create thousands of secure jobs in the process.

14.01.2022 Thank you Sally! Our Greens candidate Sally Dillon finished ahead of Labor in the Coorparoo ward earlier this year. If we can do the same in the upcoming state election we will win Greenslopes on preferences! #Repost @sallyforcoorparoo Stones Corner, Queensland... When you bump into a friend and realise youre wearing coordinating outfits!!! #greensforgreenslopes

13.01.2022 Will you help us by hosting a yard sign? The Queensland Greens do not accept corporate donations, so we cant match the HUGE advertising budgets of the major parties. Supporters hosting yard signs is one of the best ways we can let the community know that were turning Greenslopes green Go to https://www.victorforgreenslopes.com/yardsign to sign up - itll only take 30 seconds and it could impact the next four years! Well have volunteers come to your place to help set the yard sign up and pack it down when the election is done - you dont need to lift a finger!

11.01.2022 Scott Morrison (ScoMo) really knows how to set the world on fire - today, its with possibly BILLIONS in public funds to prop up the dirty gas industry! Forget funding hospitals and schools, climate crisis HERE WE COME!

10.01.2022 Have you never been involved in a political campaign? Do you want to find out how we can win Greenslopes for the Greens? Do you want to get active but dont know how? Do you want to make (awesome) friends and influence people?... 09.01.2022 BREAKING: Lets make public transport completely free for every Queenslander This is such a smart move! If you think about the real objectives of public transport (help people get places, reduce cars off the road) then why spend $371 million for a new privatised ticketing system when the annual fare revenue for public transport was just $360 million last year? 06.01.2022 Bloated Gas Claims! The PM claimed yesterday that "Gas picks itself". Hmmmm ... Or does Gas get picked when your government and their committee is full of fossil fuel industry type? ... and when both the LNP and Labor opposition" receive millions of dollars in fossil fuel donations Gas is a harmful fossil fuel. Australia needs to move to renewable energy.

06.01.2022 The PMs "gas-fuelled recovery" is lining us up for climate catastrophe. Gas is a fossil fuel and a major cause of the climate crisis. Heres The Project last n...ight backing it up we dont need new gas. Renewables are already cheaper and ready to fill the gaps in the market as coal fired power shuts down. Dont fall for their spin. 05.01.2022 The election results for Greenslopes have now been finalised so our team would like to give a big shout out and thank you to all our volunteers, generous donors, supporters and sister campaigns. I know it’s hard not to be disappointed with the outcome. But my hope is that, like me, you will see how much we genuinely achieved this election. Our primary vote went up again to 23.43%! 03.01.2022 Some of the biggest players in Australias gas sector have made more than $6.4m in political donations over the past decade, including $426,000 to the Liberal and National parties in the 2018/19 election year The true scale of the gas industrys influence is unknown due to flaws with the lobbying regime and donation disclosure laws.

03.01.2022 We had a great weekend with our amazing volunteers out and about turning Greenslopes Green! We chatted to lots of people in Coorparoo and listened to their concerns. Issues that kept coming up included climate change, moving to 100% renewable energy by 2030, over development, decline in health care and the disappointment that teachers and nurses had their pays frozen after being at the forefront of the COVID19 crisis. Big thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and the lovely residents of Coorparoo that were so warm and welcoming!

02.01.2022 The Greens plan to scrap all public transport fares in Queensland, introducing free public transport on all buses, trains and ferries. Public transport in Brisbane is too slow, too unreliable and too expensive. Its stressful, and forces more people to drive, making traffic worse and parking harder. Free public transport would provide a massive economic stimulus at a time when Queenslands economy desperately needs it by putting more money in peoples pockets, increasing tra...vel around the city and making our neighbourhoods and communities accessible, thriving places to live. In the midst of a historic recession, essential services that get our economy moving, and help people access work, learning and play, should be free. Wed be able to save $864 million over four years by scrapping the expensive, privatised ticketing system, reducing spending on road-widening and cutting costs associated with fare evasion like court costs. Were fighting to: Introduce free public transport in Queensland Reform Brisbanes bus network to ensure a high frequency bus on every major road corridor Create a fast rail network in South East-Queensland connecting Gold Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast Transition Queenslands bus fleet to electric - manufactured in Queensland!
