25.01.2022 Our C1s make the trek to Yank today, and we welcome Gator back for his first game in over a year. Congratulations to Harrison Medlen who is playing his 50th senior game for the club today.

20.01.2022 Our Under 12s are back at it again tomorrow night at 5pm. Come down and support our juniors

20.01.2022 We believe the Great Southern Cricket Association Executives are meeting those evening to decide whether their finals will continue. Cricket Australia has recom...mended local competitions cease as of today. Preliminary Finals are scheduled for this weekend with Grand Finals on March 28 & 29. There may be an option of playing the Preliminary Finals as one day match this Saturday with the Grand Finals on Sunday, also as a one day match. Until the Government feels the need to enforce a nation wide self isolation, we feel the Association can still continue. A standard cricket match may have 30-35 people in attendance and is a non-contact sport. The local pubs, fast food outlets and shopping centres have far more people in close proximity, not to mention our schools.

19.01.2022 How good is it to have cricket back! - Senior training tonight - Under 12s tomorrow night - Seniors Saturday

15.01.2022 **IMPORTANT UPDATE** Following directives from Cricket Australia & the SACA it is with a heavy heart that the GSCA has decided to cancel all cricket matches in ...all junior & senior grades for the rest of this season meaning our season is now finished. Please understand that this decision is not one that has been taken lightly but we feel that we have no other choice at this time. The executive committee are working through the issues arising from this decision & will keep everyone informed as best we can. Please see below the communication received this morning from the SACA & if anyone has any questions please give me a call. Regards, Darryl Mason GSCA President 0428 724481 Dear Association/Club, In the best interests of cricket participants and the wider community, this communication outlines how Australian cricket will do our part to further protect players, staff, volunteers and match officials at all levels of the game plus the wider community during the global coronavirus pandemic. Cricket Australia, in consultation with its State and Territory Associations, has cancelled the Marsh Sheffield Shield final for 2019-20 and the South Australian Cricket Association has taken the further step of cancelling all Premier Cricket finals from this week onwards. We expect local community cricket and school competitions to take the same leadership position and cancel all cricket playing and training activity for the remainder of the 2019-20 season in response to this unprecedented global health issue. This expectation also applies to competitions that are just starting or about to commence in some parts of the country. Where relevant, we will work with these associations to minimise this disruption. This is an evolving issue and decisions on starting or recommencing should be made carefully in line with government advice and direction from Cricket Australia and SACA. We know many people in cricket communities around Australia will be disappointed with this decision, but it has been made in our communities’ best interests in consultation with government and expert medical advice from Cricket Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, John Orchard. We acknowledge that this is a more extreme step than communicated in previous weeks, but our advice now is that the risks of playing organised sport at any level are too high to safely continue. We also recommend that all clubs and associations consider the cancellation or postponement of end of season functions and events, as well as moving committee meetings to an online platform. If you need any assistance with this, please contact your SACA representative. As all communities, organisations and institutions around the world rally to slow the spread of the coronavirus, so must Australian cricket. We hope that by taking these actions now we can play a small part in ‘flattening the curve’ and stemming the spread of the virus. For any further information, please read our FAQs here. Our number one priority is to the cricket communities that we lead and serve, as well as their families. Thank you for your commitment to cricket in your community. All of our thoughts are with you and your families as you navigate these uncertain times. Kind regards, Shane Bernhardt General Manager Community Cricket

12.01.2022 Not a great return to cricket for our senior sides with C1s falling short and C2s having their game curtailed by the rain. Our C1s batted first and were in trouble early with both openers in the sheds with not many on the board, before the ever reliable Elijah Hutchinson (25) dropped anchor. The middle order all made starts and promptly got out, as we edged our way to a defendable 8/115. Despite some tight opening bowling and early wickets, Willunga broke away to sit comforta...bly at 3/72 at drinks. Despite a late flurry of wickets the damage had been down and Willunga made the runs with 3 wickets in hand. In the C2s, we lost the toss and were made to field under ominous skies. Opening bowlers Kelvin Norris and Kevin Woodland (both 0/14 from 5) kept things tight before Dylan Flavel (3/24) tore through their top order. Seaford had rebuilt to 4/99 after 30 overs before the morning's rain returned with a vengeance. Once the downpour stopped, a quick inspection of the rain soaked pitch was followed by the teams shaking hands with no hope of getting back on any time soon. Hopefully the rain stays away this week!

11.01.2022 Our senior teams will be back in action this afternoon, provided this pesky rain stays away. Congratulations to Bailey Martin who will be making his debut for the club. Good luck everyone.

10.01.2022 Good evening everyone. Last night the GSCA held it's Senior & Junior trophy presentations at Mount Compass & also presented all clubs with their premiership shi...elds, pennants & medallions. The presentations were then followed by the AGM with an excellent attendance from all clubs & all positions were successfully filled. PATRON - Trevor Connor PRESIDENT - Darryl Mason VICE PRESIDENT - Todd Kelly SEC./TREASURER - Bob Martin COMMITTEE MEMBERS Luke Harding, Chris Richardson, Jeremy Parsons, Mike Lowery It's great to see some new faces in Jeremy Parsons & Mike Lowery join the committee & we would like to acknowledge the efforts of Peter Lamz who has decided to step down from the committee. Lamzy's efforts in coordinating our junior programs & senior T20 competition over the last couple of seasons has been greatly appreciated & we wish him all the best in the future. We now look forward to putting our plans in place for the new season ahead.

05.01.2022 Our seniors will finally get their season underway this weekend. Plenty of competition for spots this week to get things underway. Good luck to our boys

04.01.2022 Today we presented our 2019/20 awards, recognising our outstanding performers for the previous season. We were also very pleased to induct two new life members. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the past season and we look forward to seeing you all again in the upcoming season.

04.01.2022 A big win for our C1s this past weekend. Winning the toss and batting, almost all our batsmen got starts, with opener Josh Boyko (34) and Tim Watson (31*) the top scorers as we posted a strong score of 6/141. In reply, Yankalilla were never able to get going, with Michael Hollamby (3/16) taking apart the top order, before Josh Boyko continued his excellent all round performance with 5/15 to roll them for just 88. In the C2s, after losing the toss and bowling, a solid start fr...om the opening bowlers Alex Czarnecki (1/13) and Kevin Woodland (2/34) kept Rapid Bay quiet early, before Dave Wenham came to the crease and scored a chanceless 102 not out to take them to 5/184. A big chase was needed, but unfortunately none of our batsmen were really able to get going. The ever reliable John deGaris top scored with 27, but it was only some late lusty blows from Kelvin Norris (15*) and Dylan Flavel (13*) that took the score into triple figures, with Dave Wenham again turning it on with 2 wickets and a freakish catch. See more

03.01.2022 Also a big Thankyou too Jodie from Bunnings Victor Harbor for her efforts organising/donating a new Gazibo! This will be great for hot days and for any events we would like to hold in the future!

02.01.2022 A tough start to the season for our seniors, with both sides enduring narrow losses. C1 travelled to Mount Compass where a number of our boys experienced playing on a turf pitch for the first time. Compass won the toss and elected to bat first, and despite threatening to break away at times, were restricted to 8/134. Captain Lachie Hywood lead from the front, taking 3/8 from his 7 overs. In reply, despite a number of our batsmen getting starts, no one was able to go on and ma...ke a match winning knock as we stumbled to 9/116, before Lachie Hywood (3*) and Todd Fowler (11*) combined for the final wicket to edge us towards victory, but ultimately falling just 5 runs short. C2 hosted Goolwa, winning the toss and batting. Despite a middle order wobble, a pair of 50 partnerships between Chris McGlinchey (33) and Tony Eden (18), and Mal Brittain (18*) and John deGaris (28*) bookended the innings as we posted 5/129. Goolwa came out firing early, but some tight bowling from captain Kelvin Norris (2/23) and Kevin Woodland (1/13) brought the match back to even terms at drinks. Despite some excellent death bowling from Brodie Hutton (2/30), Goolwa were able to scrape their way to a winning total. Plenty of positives to take from both games and we'll look to bounce back this weekend with C1 travelling to Noarlunga and C2 hosting McLaren Districts.

02.01.2022 Good luck to our senior teams in action today.
