25.01.2022 I’ve recently completed two new pieces for the We salute You project, The family’s have asked me not to post them until they show them to their (one is s husba...nd the other a son) respective family members, so I am posting one of my favourite pieces painted in December 2020 . Let’s hope 2021 finds a solution to this dreadful virus. Stay healthy everyone.
25.01.2022 Work in progress I thought you might be interested in the way I begin my military paintings. So in this case I had an idea,... I’ve been wanting to do a painting of our Aussie WW2 soldiers storming the beach I so this is the sought of image I have in my mind, This is not going to be a gentle painting, there will be bodies in the water, razor wire on the beach, there will be explosions etc. I will ettempt to make it as true to my thoughts as possible. If you have any thoughts your suggestions will be welcomed. I’ll keep you updated.
25.01.2022 Work in progress So I’m at the next stage, beginning to bring some detail to this piece it’s delicate work I need to be cautious not to disrupt the mood of the... painting. Working on the men, I need to be careful not to overwork this, it’s a delicate balancing act between mood and detail, each man needs just the right amount of detail but not too much. I will adjust the individual movement for each man, that’s the next step. That’s what I love about painting it allows you so much freedom but you can easily over do it, so gently does it. Two more stages to go.
24.01.2022 So these are just some of the recent additions to the We Salute You project, there are 8 more but no room to put them in this photo. So once again this is a shout out to all interested parties , to be part of this project just PM me for details. Cheers 1

It has the feel I wanted, I’m happy with the end result, so now if I may I’ll pass it over to you. Please give me your thoughts

Details in the brochure. So I’ve begun painting some of our veterans for the We Salute You project, and some of the stories I’ve been sent are amazing, so inspirational, it is truly an honour to paint these amazing veterans. 15.01.2022 Work in progress. For those of you patient enough to follow me through this process we are now at the third stage ,(one more stage to go) I’ve now added so com...plimentary colour to the foreground adding to the drama. M happy with the development of this piece I think it will all come together at the end once I overlay a little morning mist. Hope your enjoying the journey of how I produce my paintings. Cheers
14.01.2022 Work in progress stage 3 Hope your still with me guys I’ve added some strength and movement to the sand in the foreground adding to the drama, I’m happy with it... at this stage, I think it will come together once I ad the morning mist at the end, This piece as certainly had it’s twists and turns, and that’s what makes painting so enjoyable, for me it’s like stearin a sail boat through a storm, exiting and dangerous all at the same time. One more stage to go, hope you will stay with me, I will be interested in your comments of the journey. Cheers

10.01.2022 Hi all A little while ago I wanted to do a painting that showed our Aussie soldiers in WW1 storming the beach, and this is what I painted. I wanted to show the... shear horror, that they had to go through. And yet they fought on. If anyone ever neede a reason to be proud of all our veterans ( not that we need a reason) they ran into hell, to protect our way of life Hope you like it
09.01.2022 Work in progress I’ve been wanting to do a painting of our Aussie WW2 soldiers storming the beach so this is the sought of image I have in my mind,... 09.01.2022 Hi guys I’ve had so many of you asking about when my exhibit will be back on the road, and how it works I thought if nobody minds I’d respond on this post. So ...right up front it’s important that you know that I don’t charge a fee for my show and exhibition, The exhibit is about our military history it portrays Male And Female heroes I normally paint a large painting live at the show, whilst telling stories of individual heroism by our veterans. The painting I do on the night is auctioned on the night, and 50% of gross sale goes to the charity or fundraising group holding the event. There is only two conditions 1 the funds raised must be directed to assist our veterans in need. 2 the cost of getting the exhibit to your fundraiser and then back to my studio must be covered. I hope this gives you an insight into what I do, Happy to answer any questions you might have Cheers So this is the promo poster,

05.01.2022 Work in progress I’ve made some changes to my original idea, and decided to place the landing location of this piece in New Guinea at Lae (or close to Lae) I w...anted to thank my Facebook friends for their suggestions and help with the concept of this piece it’s made it easier for me to decide the way to go forward . So this is the re-designed lay out. this is at stage one of the process, next I will reinforce the mood, then refine some of the details. Hope you stay with me during the next 3 stages.

02.01.2022 We've lost over 40 veterans so far this year. We'll lose another next week. This is a crisis. We won't stop losing them until we start treating this like the c...risis it is. One that deserves more than cynical spin and half-baked half-measures. One that deserves a real crisis response a Royal Commission. Enlist here: https://www.lambienetwork.com.au/vetrc
02.01.2022 Hi guys Facebook has just brought up an old post of mine from a few years ago, This was the beginning of the idea behind the We Salute You project, I thought y...ou might like to see it, so I’m reposting. Here’s a little background on Joe Zapp for those interested. I realised I could draw at the age of seven, I have no idea we’re this ability came from, there were no artistic talented people in my family background, and the thought that I wanted to become an artist was frowned on. But I guess you have to follow your dreams, and be who you are. I believe I was given this gift for a purpose, to some how help were I can. So I do my best, but the reality is I can only do this with the help of those travelling a similar path. So I offer my services were I feel they would do the most good. Sometimes it works well and I raise quite a bit of money for a charity, other times just a little, but i always do my best regardless of the size of the event. The audience seems to enjoy and like what I do, so at the very least the event has some free entertainment. I posted this to inform as I have recently been told that what I offer is to good to be true and there must be a catch. Well I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years and I believe I have shown that what I do, in the way that I do it, works. I don’t know if it would work for you, but if you book me for your event and if it doesn’t work, it costs you nothing. And as usual I will donate fifty percent of whatever the painting sells for to the group that has booked me. So I’m done defending what I do, happy to help if and when I can, You can contact me at [email protected] #charityfundraiser #charityevent #charityfundraising #sportfundraiser #fightagainstcancer #fightingcancer #braintumour #braintumourresearch #cancersucks #racetrack #racetracks
