22.01.2022 WE CAN ACCEPT PROBONO We have completed a few ProBono matters and do have the capacity to accept two-three new Family Law or Migration Law (appeals only) matters in July - August 2020. Preferably in QLD & NSW. ProBono assistance is free. We do not receive grants or funding from the government and we do not do Legal Aid work in Family Law Matters.... This is entirely our own way to give back to our community. We recognise that some people in need cannot receive Legal Aid even though they are in desperate need of help! We offer work on a Pro Bono basis, meaning providing legal assistance to people in need for free. We may do work on your entire matter, from start to finish or only on a particular stage of your matter for free. The work might include all court documents drafting, court representation, correspondence with the other party and advice to you - depending on what you need and what is relevant to your case. To apply please click here: https://lnkd.in/gUkYufe or email [email protected] #probono #familylaw #genuinelegal #genuinelegalbrisbane
22.01.2022 Today, guys, I have decided to start explaining you all the basics about Family Law in Australia. It is important to understand the terminology when you are t...rying to navigate your divorce process and not to rely solemnly on your lawyer. The first term in our #familylawdictionary is DEFERRED FEE. So, paying for your lawyers work is important, right? But sometimes it is difficult to keep it all together financially while trying to sort out your divorce and starting your new life all at the same time. Thats why we offer our clients #deferredfee option, when you can get to use our services and get important stuff done, but pay later! You will have to pay for the expenses, of course, like court fees, barristers etc, but #Genuine_Legal will not charge you for the work until the case has finished! A small example: Our client found herself in a tricky situation after her partner decided to leave her completely empty-handed post-divorce. Having no means to pay for legal support, she chose the deferred fee route, and walked away with $270,000 as a result. There is always a way out. Genuinely yours, Evgeny See more
22.01.2022 Whilst we are all extremely worried at this time, the virus should not be an excuse to attempt to stop children from having a relationship with their other parent http://www.legalaid.qld.gov.au//Ten-tips-for-separated-par

21.01.2022 Being a single parent and managing shared parenting arrangements can be difficult at the best of times, let alone during this COVID-19 crisis. Weve pulled t...ogether some tips to help during this time... Tip #1: Model best practice personal hygiene Make sure you model best practice personal hygiene for your children, family and friends. Let the other parent know you and your household are following the government health guidelines. When it comes to co-parenting, remember consistent messaging across households is important. Keep following Legal Aid Queensland on social media for daily tips for separated parents or visit https://bit.ly/2xFVzor for the full list from the Law Council of Australia, Family Law Section. To find more information about children and parenting visit www.legalaid.qld.gov.au or call Legal Aid Queensland on 1300 65 11 88. #parents #CoronavirusAustralia #legalhelp
21.01.2022 We use technology to make our clients lives easier and if / when we are required to self isolate or not go out, all of our staff can work from home.
20.01.2022 The vast majority of the law firms charge per hour. Sounds fair? Many professionals in different areas charge per hour. However, from our experience given the c...omplexity and unpredictability of family law matters hourly bills can raise rapidly to tens of thousands. Another problem is that hourly charges are hard to measure from the clients perspective. A client does not have control over the bills. This can leads to untrust between a lawyer and a client. Many clients complain that hourly rates costs agreements give Lawyers rights to "charge what they want". Hourly rates also do not allow offering a Payment Plan because a client would always be behind. This builds anxiety, mistrust and debt. Lawyers spend a lot of time chasing up arrears rather than on real work. This is one of the reasons why many law firms request large amounts of money upront. We are of the strong view, that the hourly charges system in family law matters is wrong and negatively affect lawyer-client relationships. We are a large firm and exclusively practise Family Law. We stand for 100% fixed fee. A fixed fee is an agreed fixed amount to be paid for the agreed work. It does not matter if we have spent more time on the matter. A fixed fee cannot be increased. This is our promise. We will provide you with a fixed fee quote. Usually, it is possible to provide you with our fixed fee quote after attending a 1-hour free consultation. For complex Court matters, we will be able to give you a fixed fee quote for a particular stage of your case. We have all prices on our website. I am not sure whether any other law firm has a full price list openly on a website. Because of the fixed fee model we are able to offer clear Payment Plans. We actually never ask for the full fees to be paid upfront. A small initial deposit, usually $500 - $1,000 is sufficient to commence work on your matter and represent you. We also offer "zero deposit" if you cannot afford one. All our clients are eligible for a Payment Plan. We neither have selection criteria, nor do we charge an interest rate with the plan. About 60% of our clients are on Payment Plans. Usually, a Payment Plan is $75 - $150 per week. Please comment below your opinion about how legal fees should work in family law matters. Feel free to share your experience. See more

20.01.2022 FLPA ENDORSES REASONABLE AND SENSIBLE APPROACH TO PARENTING ORDERS In a media release issued today, the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland (FLPA...) supports the statement from the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court (the Courts) encouraging parents to take a reasonable and sensible approach to ensure they comply with existing parenting orders during the current pandemic, including over the Easter weekend. In the Chief Justices (the Honourable William Alstergren) statement from the Courts, he clarifies what is expected of parents in these unprecedented times. FLPA president James Steel said family law practitioners were supportive of the statement that urges parents to do what they can to fulfil their existing parenting orders, keeping in mind what is in the best interests of their children. The Court has given family law practitioners as well as parents a clear directive on how parenting orders are affected by the COVID-19 virus, said Mr Steel. Parents should continue to comply with parenting orders and children should continue to spend time with each parent. There are going to be situations where this is not possible or not safe for the children, but we strongly discourage parents from using the current circumstances as an excuse to frustrate compliance with orders. The Courts statement makes clear if orders cannot be complied with that parents should communicate with each other to find a practical solution to these difficulties, Mr Steel said. Mr Steel encouraged parents who were unsure about their parenting orders and needed advice to contact their family lawyer, the Family Relationships Advice Line or Family Dispute Resolution Services.
19.01.2022 Happy New Year! Our office will be open again Monday! Enjoy the rest of your Christmas break / weekend!
19.01.2022 We have finished work for the year at Genuine Legal (although we are available for urgent issues that arise) so the office pup, Mischka and I wanted to wish all of our clients, colleagues, friends and family a very Merry Christmas! It has been a huge year for us at GL. Our team is bigger and stronger than ever and we actually enjoy spending time together in and out of work which can only be a good thing! Thankfully we are always set up to work from home (although myself and ...@kerryaguilar_lawyer are not the biggest fans of WFH as @genuinelegal_ceo is now well aware!) so it was not a huge adjustment for us when lockdown happened and we really could carry on with business as usual and provide ongoing and continuous support to our clients! This means our service and commitment to quality low cost legal services are better than ever before. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

13.01.2022 There is a myth that all lawyers are the same. This is absolutely not true on many parameters. Here are the two main ones. First, there are different levels... of COMPETENCY, which reflects in the quality of your representation. Second, there are COSTS, which (quite frankly) hardly ever reflect the competency of the lawyer to deal with your case. In our case, we offer fixed prices, pro bono and payment plans to take the financial strain off of our clients.
13.01.2022 Did you know that the majority of private Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners / Mediators charge clients for hiring the venue? This is why a half / full day... mediation might cost $2,500 - $4,500. Let's stop it. We have large enough offices and decided to give rooms for free for all family law mediation sessions. Does not matter whether you are our client, have your own Solicitors or no representation at all. We will start this from our Brisbane City Office in June and Sydney (Parramatta) Office in July. Mediation is considered the most stress-free and cost-effective solution in family law matters. However, many still fail to consider it, due to the fear of hidden costs. That's it - serviced office hire costs preventing you from resolving your matter in the most cost-effective way. Lucky for you, our office in Brisbane offers 100% Free Boardroom and meeting rooms for parties and professionals involved in family law mediation processes. No charges No obligations No commitments No cancellation fees Just take the free space for 2 hours / a half day / or a full day mediation. Coffee, tea and refreshments are on us. We want your matters to be resolved as smoothly as possible - genuinely. Book a free venue here: https://meetings.hubspot.com/roombookings For your convenience, our Brisbane City office address is Level 3, 247 Adelaide Street Brisbane City. Evgeny, CEO @ Genuine Legal
12.01.2022 We are often able to offer pro bono assistance for some stages of our family law matters. Today I was able to appear at a Conciliation Conference for a matter which has been ongoing for 2 years and already had a failed mediation attempt. We were able to successfully argue for our client to receive a settlement which properly recognised her contributions at last and settle it for our lovey client #genuinelegal #genuinelegalqld #probono #genuinelegalprobono
10.01.2022 The fact that people publicly make such comments specifically directed at female family lawyers is terrible and entirely uncalled for. This enquiry and peoples responses really does call into question whether it could or would ever assist the Government and Courts with the family law system
10.01.2022 I’ve done one or two of them!
