19.01.2022 VCD had its annual Term 4 athletics sports day last Thursday. It was a hot day, but spirits and team rivalry were great! 100m sprints, 800m race, shotput, discus, the good old egg and spoon race, and long jump were all activities we competed in. At the end of it all (and a few cold icy-poles later), Punt was announced the winner for the day! Go PUNT! Well done to all students and staff for their efforts and a wonderful day! Here are some photos.
18.01.2022 We may have been quiet on Facebook but VCD has not been! Students and staff are back in full swing and so busy! Year 7 information night, Primary have set up a handball court and having a blast, the Tradeblock cafe is back in business, the Middle Years are filming a short movie, our older students were doing a survey and interviewing younger students and others were having a ball, playing happily, at lunchtime. What a great week! And happy World Teacher's Day today to our fabulous team at VCD!
16.01.2022 VCD has new Literacy programs, designed to teach our students language, vocabulary, sentence structure, grammar and spelling. We deliver these programs through explicit direct instruction. Our programs focus on the learning needs of all our students. Our programs cater for the Auslan and speech/listening needs of all our students. The programs have been phenomenal for our student learning and growth. We are excited. Contact the College if you want more information.

12.01.2022 Yesterday, on the 13th November, VCD held the FJ Rose Oration. Every year, we invite a Deaf person to speak to our student community. This Deaf person, like our school's founder, FJ Rose, needs to have demonstrated self belief, overcome adversity and achieved in spite of what was thrown to them. It could be a hobby, it could be work, it could be a passion or a personal journey. Yesterday, we welcomed Jessica Moody who presented a riveting dialogue about arts, Deaf access, possibilities and where the Deaf community can fit in. She spoke about her journey to establish Deafferent Theatre also. The students were absorbed in her oration. Thank you Jessica Moody for delivering an excellent oration.

04.01.2022 We knew VCD had talent but this is amazing! This artwork on our Clevertouch interactive screen was done by a........ fly. A fly hopped on the board, left colourful marks, jumped onto a different paint tool and colour, made more marks and so on. What a talented fly!
02.01.2022 Wonderful to see the College come together for assembly today.
