16.01.2022 A player hits their 2nd shot from the fairway from 150 meters out and it heads towards and hits the flag-stick, and disappears. On reaching the green the player finds his ball, in two pieces, lying at the bottom of the hole. Is the ball considered holed ? or Does the player have to replay the stroke without penalty?

13.01.2022 Saw this in another group. My favourite story at the moment is about knowing the rules. A foursomes were coming up the last playing for a huge pot. They end up on the last green with a 10 ft putt to win the game.. the guy leaves it short on the edge and in his disgust he backhands the ball into the woods. His opponents says they didn't given the putt and claims the game.. Ok says the loser," I bet you double or quits I can get up and down from wherever that is."His partner g...oes ballistic saying" the effing ball is behind a tree you cant do that" Done says their opponents rubbing their hands together in the thought of all that dough.. the loser then walks across to his ball, sees it buried in a Bush and says " right I declare it unplayable" walks over puts the ball down on the edge of the hole, knocks it in and says " I think that's us even" See more

Answer 1 or 2 in comments a) The ball is partly on the Out of Bounds line and partly on the General Area - 1 Inbounds / 2 OOB?... b) The ball is partly on the fringe and partly on the green - 1 Fringe / 2 Green? c) The ball lies partly on the fairway and partly in the rough (Need to know this for winter rules) - 1 Fairway / 2 Rough? d) Most of the ball is on the red line of a penalty area but a small part of the ball is is on the rough outside the penalty area - 1 Penalty area / 2 Rough e) The ball is on a tee which is in front of a line drawn between the front of edges of the tee markers but a small part of the ball is overhanging that line - 1 General Area / 2 Teeing Area f) The ball lies on sand spilling out of the back edge of a bunker - 1 Bunker / 2 General area g) The ball rests against the flagstick with a small part of the ball below ground level - 1 Holed / 2 Putting green h) The ball is embedded in the edge of the hole with 90% of it below ground level. The ball is not in contact with the flagstick - 1 Holed / 2 Putting green

11.01.2022 GOLF JOKE of the WEEK A fourball is on the tee behind a slow group. They’re getting angry, so Bill says he’s had enough and is going to play through. He hits his tee shot and duck hooks it, straight into the side of one of the golfer's heads.... An hour later they’re all in the ER and he’s apologising to everyone he can see. He feels terrible. The doctor comes out and says he is going to be fine. Thank God, Bill says. One thing we don’t understand, says the doctor. You hit him on the side of the head but we found another ball up his bum? Oh, says Bill that was my provisional.
