24.01.2022 CHANGE TO CONDITIONS!! All clubs - Regional and Metro. To this point there has been a limit with how many traps can be open with a 100m distance required between groups of 10. The rule is now determined as "a reasonable distance"! A reasonable distance is the distance between two trap layouts (approx 30-40 metres). This means that clubs with multiple traps can use all of their trap facilities, with 5 people per trap layout, all at the same time.... BUT ....... THE MOST ESSENTIAL CONSIDERATION IS ..... there can be no congregation of people at any stage. Especially while waiting to participate. People cannot wait in groups and must isolate by waiting in their car for their turn. All other requirements remain the same - social distancing, hygiene, cleaning, noting contact details etc. Please remember that there is a 25 km distance limitation for Metropolitan members. All other regulations are now the same for both Regional and Metropolitan zones. See more

21.01.2022 NO NEWS YET! After an anxious day waiting for the next advice to be released there has been no specific news for clay target at this stage. The Restricted Activity Directions (RAD) document is due for release later tonight and this will form the guidelines for the next step of directions. I would ask that members be patient and as soon as the information is available it will be posted here and sent specifically to affected clubs (Metro Melbourne in particular). Thank you to all for your patience and understanding - I'm confident that there will be positive news when it is released.

14.01.2022 It is with great sadness that VCTA acknowledges the passing of Chris Carrol. A great bloke, great administrator and will be sadly missed. Condolences to his family. RIP Chris.

14.01.2022 COMPETITION CAN RECOMMENCE IN METRO MELBOURNE!!! Hi Everyone VCTA is very pleased to inform you that competition can recommence for Metropolitan Melbourne clubs, effective immediately, under very strict conditions. It is essential that clubs take care in ensuring that they comply with these directions as there have been a number of police checks of clubs in recent times and all was found to be okay as they were following the directions of their parent body. The conditions f...or competition are; Only members living within 25km of the club may participate. Only Metro members may shoot at Metro clubs. Regional members may not participate in Metro club activities and visa versa. Only 10 people are able to compete at a time (2 traps of 5 people). You may have a third and/or fourth trap open if the third and fourth traps are 100 metres from the first two traps. You are allowed to have a minimum number of members to administer the shoot. This includes a referee and scorer for each trap, an event administrator and a trap mechanic etc. These people are counted outside of the 10 competitors. Masks do not have to be worn while shooting BUT they must be warn at all other times unless you have an exemption. Club rooms may not open except for toilets. People waiting for their turn are not permitted to gather in groups and it is preferred that they wait in their vehicles. Social distancing is essential! (1.5 metres rule) at all times. Group presentations should be avoided where possible. People in attendance at the event should be discouraged from gathering in groups. Contact details must be kept for all people in attendance. All other hygiene and cleaning protocols must be followed as previously outlined. Social distancing is essential! (1.5 metres rule). Essentially - these are the same conditions as are currently in place for Regional Victoria. Please continue to check this page as any updates will be posted as soon as they are available

02.01.2022 In recent days there has been some confusion about travel and participation in Metro clubs. The following is the latest advice we have received ....... 1. Worker permits are now only required for metro-regional or regional-metro travel. 2. If work travel is within either region, no permit is required.... Metro-regional or regional-metro (permit) 3. If I live in metro Melbourne, and work in regional Vic (or vice versa), I can cross the border to work, using a worker permit. 4. I can then exercise within 25kms of my workplace. 5. If I’m not working on that day/time (eg weekends), then I can’t rely on the permit for sport and rec purposes and I can only exercise within 25km of home - substantial penalties apply for breaching this CHO direction. Metro only (no permit) 6. If I’m travelling within the metro region to work, then I no longer need a permit to work. 7. I can then exercise within 25kms of my workplace. 8. If I’m not working (eg weekends), then the usual 25km limit for sport and rec applies. 9. Participation in sport and rec beyond 25kms of my residence would breach the CHO directions and the relevant penalties would apply. Short version regardless of whether you need a work permit or not, exercising 25kms from your workplace only applies when you are at work, otherwise it’s 25kms from home only. You can’t just pretend you are at work and use it as an excuse to go beyond 25kms from home for exercise. There are very large fines for both club and individuals if the rules are flouted and they become even bigger if you have found to have stretched the truth about using a permit.
