The platform officially launched today and combines personalised interaction by superfans with their heroes and a new revenue stream for musicians. Fans request a performer to play a song from their catalogue for a fee, either as a personal keepsake or as a gift for a friend. The choices are from 13 genres and different decades. The artist decides what the fan will pay for a two-minute video, within a $100 to $500 frame, with Serenade taking a 25% cut. Similar to Cameo, the artist delivers the video within seven days and gets paid that week. Serenade artists include Didirri, Ash Grunwald, WAAX, Slowly Slowly and more, the platform has confirmed 70 to date.

Participants will build skills in composition and production. This will include deconstructing and constructing musical layers and elements to create a song, soundscape or demos. By the end of the sessions, each applicant will gain enough production skills to start practicing and building their very own archives of beats and sample packs. 08.01.2022 ICYMI UK Music has revealed the findings of its 2020 Workforce Diversity Survey in its UK Music Diversity Report 2020. Key findings include:... Representation of Black, Asian and other ethnic minorities among those aged 16-24 in the music industry stands at a record 30.6%. Proportion of women increased from 45.3% in 2016 to 49.6% in 2020. Number of people from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority communities at entry-level rose from 23.2% in 2018 to 34.6% in 2020. Representation of Black, Asian and other ethnic minorities at senior executive levels rose from 17.9% in 2018 to 19.9% in 2020. Since its launch in 2016, the survey tracks progress to boost diversity and inclusion in the UK’s music industry. It also unveils a bold Ten-Point Plan to put the music business front and centre of the drive to tackle racism and boost diversity in Britain. The survey is overseen by UK Music’s Diversity Taskforce, which includes Paulette Long OBE, who facilitated the VMDO Clock Your Skills program early this year. 05.01.2022 Patternmakers have released research findings from their Audience Outlook Monitor, conducted earlier this year. The survey set out to create awareness and a deeper understanding of disabled audiences, their views and attendance at cultural events since the easing of restrictions. The fact sheet provides results from 657 audience members who identified as disabled. ... The research concludes: 28% of audience members with a disability have attended a cultural event since the easing of COVID-19 restrictions. 48% of audience members with a disability who have not yet attended an event are planning to do so. 80% of audiences with a disability have participated in cultural events online recently. This research finds audiences with disability are the most highly engaged online, and are slightly cautious about returning to venues, hence, maintaining an online presence for events is still increasingly relevant even as restrictions ease. 01.01.2022 Patternmakers have found the proportion who feel comfortable attending large performance venues is highest among outer regional/remote audiences. Phase 3 of their Audience Outlook Monitor from September of this year researched members of regional communities, their attendance levels and feelings towards events since the easing of coronavirus restrictions. 2,574 respondents identified as members of a regional audience, and the findings presented the following:... 85% of regional audience members feel comfortable attending an outdoor cultural event. 37% of regional audience members have attended a cultural event recently. 62% of regional audience members have participated in arts and culture events online. The survey research has concluded that although many still feel cautious about safety, by a large majority, regional communities are feeling the most positive towards the easing of restrictions, reopening of venues and physically attending an event.
